Don't be a moron. Xanax, or any benzo for that matter, will turn you into a moron. You will legit drop IQ points and when you get off that shit you'll have extreme anxiety and won't be normal for a long ass time/can permanently fry your brain. There's a reason it's used sparingly, if you wanna cure your social anxiety then SSRI would be the way. Any doc that prescribes you benzos for social anxiety should have their license revoked, that person is out to make bank at the expense of your life
It fricks with your sleep architecture so you can't form memories as well. While on them, it's like being drunk/tipsy all the time, similar MOA to alcohol that's why it's used in alcohol withdrawal (delirium tremens). You know roofies are in the same class, you take a bit a benzos and they'll give you some memory loss, you take a high dose and you'll black out and do stupid, expensive, criminal shit and won't even remember it. There's very little indications for benzos and there's no indications for long term benzo use. Doctor's now a days are told to avoid prescribing that shit long term. Source- I'm a doc
I think it depends on the dose. I've been on them for a year and half because panic disorder. I'm not seeing anything different, neither my relatives, friends. But agreed that pills are not a solution.
get therapy not benzos
I was addicted for 2 years after getting them prescribed from a doc. Ive almost no memories from that time, just friends telling me stories about crazy shit I did and how different I was on them. Honestly you are gonne feel great while being on them if you have bad anxiety, but you will slowly need more and more until you lose control of yourself at some point. The only way u should use them is when u have a severe panic attack or something like that.
I went into rehab and the withdrawal is the worst thing ever and even now 5 years later I still think about taking them again to feel "normal", even tho my life is going great now and I already made good progress on my mental health.
Don‘t get hooked on benzos. They mess up your entire hippocampal network, for more info read the neuropsychology of anxiety by gray and mcnaughton. The only true solution for social anxiety is habituation to what makes you anxious, that means you have to condition yourself to become numb to whats making you anxious.
>is it advisable to work out on xanax?
I don't really see any point to it, I think you would have better workouts sober. >also will xanax cure my social anxiety?
It's a temporary fix for while you're on it, but the problem is that when you're off it your anxiety just gets worse than it was before and you get nasty withdrawal symptoms. It's a terrible way to deal with anxiety, it's okay for people to use occasionally when they get panic attacks, but using it everyday to deal with anxiety is just a terrible idea.
I take a small dose (3-4 mg valium/bite a little piece off) after dinner and it's fine. It's got a long ass half life unlike Xanax. I get none of shit sides or blackouts either.
Because they are moronic and/or use it sparingly (in time), despite abusing it. Long term use will result in physical dependence. It wouldn’t surprise me if someone who actually needs it (eg. for a panic disorder) got addicted and someone who finds it fun (eg. uses several times the therapeutic dose every weekend) didn’t.
The only true way to cure anxiety is through normal means. It involves changing the way you think about things and exposure to social situations, while also possibly expressing your emotions because repressed emotions unironically cause anxiety sometimes; Freud was right.
Some people are probably genetically predisposed to social anxiety and will never be the extroverted Chad they think they want to be, but an introverted somewhat shy person who's confident in who they are can still get pretty much everything they want out of life.
But don't be like Jordan Peterson. >I took xanax for normal negative emotions and oh no I slipped and fell and became ruthlessly addicted, must be a paradoxical reaction I only took the prescribed amount!
Real problems require real solutions while fake problems require reassessing why you think something's a problem in the first place.
I started taking diazepam after my dad died to 'self medicate', or that's what I told myself. In reality I was just delaying and depressing my emotions and not dealing with life. Spent 18 months unable to feel, create memories or function properly. I've been off them for over 8 months and my ability to feel emotions has not returned, I can stare at a wall for hours and not even realise I'm doing it. The worst part is I still fricking love the feeling of benzos and booze.
klonopin is superior
that shit made me stupid(er)

what ssri works best for social anxiety? and will it affect my work at the gym? thanks doc
i’ve been on multiple ssris and they didn’t help, just made me a zombie
Idk try Buspirone or cognitive behavioral therapy. Don't frick with benzos
do ssris actually do anything if my social anxiety is caused by insecurities etc?
Of course they mask your problems and make you feel really ok with whatever bothered you before.
Alone, no. They can make the worst parts of anxiety and depression less bad so that you have some actual capacity to work on improving things.
I think it depends on the dose. I've been on them for a year and half because panic disorder. I'm not seeing anything different, neither my relatives, friends. But agreed that pills are not a solution.
(OP) is already a moron, benzos won't change anything about that, Xanax might even increase his IQ.
>is it advisable to work out on xanax?
eat a handful of pills for maximum gainz
get therapy not benzos

benzos are really not something you want to frick with
use benzos only as emergency, as in if you have actual panic attacks
Yes, your muscles need to be relaxed when lifting heavy weights. Especially when setting a bench PR.

>just not enough to black out like a moron

Congrats on the heavy physical dependence, anon. Clonazepam’s half life is between one and two days, and you’ve been taking it daily.
Frick off trannies Discord gave up on you, you are not welcome.
