Is it bad if I """treat myself""" with some sweets every other day (e.g. a small chocolate). I'd even be still within my caloric limit..

I just made creme brûlée
IIFYM why not
just don't think of it as "treating" yourself
your just supplying your body with the fuel it needs to function that day; regardless of the actual composition as long as it falls within a certain range of allotted nutrients. simple as
*I'd even be within my calorie limit
ESL moment
I don't know man, if it works it works if it doesn't you can't
The fact that you think about certain foods and activities as "not allowed" means you are still dieting, and haven't made an actual change in your character. Are you a person who eats sweets?
That being said, there are plenty of healthy, tasty snacks that aren't candy that you can still eat as a fit person, like cheese, carrots, dried sausage or unsalted nuts
>The fact that you think about certain foods and activities as "not allowed"
He literally didn't say or imply that
I eat whatever I want whenever I want based off of if I'm hungry or not. Still underweight
>I eat whatever I want based off of if I'm hungry or not
Why do purport this as some kind of good idea? This is what fat "people" do and look where that's gotten them. If you're still underweight, you must be doing something wrong. How about deciding/planning what you are gonna eat and then stick to that? If your goal is to gain muscles and weight, you need to adjust your diet
>This is what fat "people" do and look where that's gotten them.
It's pretty appetite dependent
>Why do purport this as some kind of good idea?
Because that's how people who dont have eating disorders eat
>Why not meticulously plan what to eat like an absolute autist rather than just follow your natural instincts like humans did for millennia without issue?
You're not entirely wrong, but corporate giants that actively do everything they can to make sure you eat more and don't give a flying frick about human health or longevity didn't exist for millennia.
chocolate is great for you, one of the best sources of stearic acid as well as minerals and sugar (a superfood)
>one of the best sources of stearic acid
>as well as minerals and sugar (a superfood)
can't tell if this is bait because vegans make similiarly moronic claims
You lost me the moment you said "superfood". Do you also believe in electrolytes and activated almonds? The only superfood is beef and you will never see that being shilled because the profit margins are small
3/10
clueless drongos that haven't disproven anything
chocolate is weight loss and health food
so is high quality ice cream, for similar reasons
here's your (You)
stick to your garbage devoid of nutrition like chicken broccoli and rice moron
Chicken is too lean, unless I add a buttery sauce.
I don't eat broccoli.
Rice only in moderation.
Eat butter.
mmm butter
>eating butter until you get sick of it and have to force it
this person is so unbelievably stupid holy shit
the reason people say "eat butter" is so that you feel more satiated
if you eat food after you feel satiated, of course you're going to gain fat
You sound fat or a recovering fatty
>eats shit with literally no micronutrients to speak of, just pure fat and sugar, and calls one of the best sources of amino acids, fiber, micronutrients and easy to digest carbohydrates bad
Lol enjoy your type 2 diabetes
broccoli has 0 nutritional value and fibre is a bad thing
this guy clearly is an obvious troll and you should stop responding to him
Unironically correct. No idea what you have against chicken, though.
Chicken is like protein powder, it has nothing much beyond macronutrient content
But most humans are already eating too little protein? I don't get the hate.
If your point is that we should eat more liver, heart and kidney, then I agree.
Hi liver king
don't compare me to a drug addict bodybuilder human waste
Why do you even feel the need to treat yourself? Food is fuel, and sweets are the worst kind If you’re trying to actually achieve something worthwhile. And they don’t even really taste all that great tbh.
The creme brulee of this anon
looks pretty good if you ask me. Also, I'm a former fatty and like sweets more than an average human.
I will literally run a couple miles if I eat a donut. I ordered a coffee with no sugar today and it had sugar. Had to destroy my body and now I am super tired. But frick it, having good cardio means you can win fights as speed always trumps strength.
Anything is fine in moderation. When I decide I want to indulge in something sweet I'll eat it before my workout with a black coffee for some sugar energy. (I typically eat some berries and a black coffee as my pre)
No milk?
I'm still eating a few Christmas cookies every day. Dirty bulk bros, where we at?
Is an actually clean bulk even possible without taking a literal decade?
You lift to live, not live to lift. Enjoy a treat every now and then
It's not "bad" but the reason I don't do it is because that shit might give you sugar cravings, and then you will constantly want something you know you can't have, or you will constantly have to bring up some willpower to only have it in moderation. I've never been fat, but I did consume a lot of sugar or snacked on savory shit and instead of getting hungry and craving real food I always just got the urge to eat a little bit of trash, and then I wasn't hungry enough anymore to eat my proper meals. What happened when I cut all the sugar out of my diet and all the snacks was that whenever I crave anything now it is one of my 5 meals I have per day, nothing else. When all you crave is a nice satiating meal, even when it's clean, the diet aspect of fitness is absolute easy mode.
>is it bad if you treat yourself with sweets every other day
Potentially. Here are some reasons why:
>wanting to eat sweets can a symptom of emotional eating
>if you start eating them, you may lose discipline and start saying things like "even though i went over my calorie limit, its ok, ill just work outharder to burn more calories so im under"
So while it's not bad, it could be. That's what I did last year and it's why I failed. I kept eating junk food, telling myself as long as I'm under my calories it's ok, and eventually it took over and I gained 20kg.
There is a bunch of shit in the kitchen I would love to eat right now. I would love to order some McDonalds and just pig out. It'd make me feel so good.
But then every time I look in the mirror I'd wish I had the discipline to control my urges. I'd wish I controlled them a lot sooner. I think about how I first touched a barbell in 2017 or 2018 with the goal of looking fit enough to take my shirt off at the beach and to at least look normal, but here I am worse off than when I started because I kept giving in to my cravings.
2024 is my year
why is this so hard for you fricking morons. eat whatever you want but make sure you hit your caloric and protein intake based on your goals.
you're not training to be an elite bodybuilder so those miniscule little details that matters to them doesn't mean jack shit to you.
stop overcomplicating this.
>why is it so hard
Because incorporating fast food into your diet is a slippery slope. You're dieting because you're overweight. That means you lacked discipline to begin with. Now you're trying to be disciplined, but you're allowing yourself to indulge in something that's not nutritious and is addictive because it's delicious and affects your mood. This is why some people are uncertain about how much fast food they should eat when they're trying to lose weight, because it's very easy for someone to go back to their old ways.
