    It's very difficult to quantify how difficult it is to gain weight for a skinny person. Some skinny people would have no issues eating more, while others would feel ill from eating too much.

        Count your calories. You'll end up having to force feed yourself to gain occasionally, but it will be worth the effort. My lifts don't improve anymore unless I'm on a bulk, and a steady bulk can be almost 100% lean mass if it isn't too much.

        You very well might, yeah, but if you don't count calories, just making sure you always use food as a reward for exercise while bulking (very strictly) will help immensely.

        also it's much harder to make it as a fatass because you need to lose weight first, adding 1 stupid extra step

    They both suck but I assume the worst is fat with no muscle. All the struggle with no base at all. I lost 30 lbs and I looked decent because I had some muscle hiding under there.

    As someone who experienced both ends of the spectrum, it's much easier as a skinny person.
    When you're skinny, all you have to do is eat and push and you'll get a clean physique. When you're fat it's harder to restrict yourself (you're always feeling hungry and tired) and you keep your ugly stretch marks forever.

    Skinny. Fatasses are far more likely to have crippling mental illnesses and just be absolutely in denial about reality or needing to change. They will literally claim it's harder to perform an action (stuffing your face with high calorie foods all day) than perform an inaction (not eat as much food all day), they will claim fat is "beautiful", they will claim they're big boned, they're likely to be on meds, have all sorts of mental and self esteem issues (yet do nothing about them), etc. At least when it comes to men.

    Skinny is definitely easier. Without exception people who weigh 60-70kg look way better and they reach that point in 1 year of lifting. When you are lean the amount of lean muscle mass you need to put on is absolutely ridiculous. A lot of people look like fricking shit like they never entereted the gym despite carrying 2-3x the amount of muscle that would be needed to look aestethic. And when you are skinny all you need to do is eat. And what I mean is that you dont need to do bulk and cut cycles, you just maingain and put on clean muscle and every month you just look so much better and bigger. The gains are immediate and so apparent.

    If you are fat like 28% not even talking about some 280lbs fat ass, it can take easily an entire year to just cut and you just look terrible all the time and also feel terrible and lifting sucks while on a deficit. And you are probably not gonna bulk when you are 30% bodyfat so you need to cut, bulk and then cut while the skinny guy just maingains and looks aestethic from day 1. Well maybe not day 1 but day 90.

      It doesn't have to with good nutrition, rest and a proper cutting program. Most guys just go through the motions and they suffer. I would rather have a transformation like the fatties I've seen get fit than starting skinny and on the weaker side tbh

      This applies to both though. Most skinny guys just bulk with what the average person considers to be a regularly amount of food while fat people do the opposite in order to lose weight. Both people will gain immense confidence just from becoming normal that they don't even bother learning how to bodybuild. I've seen countless skinny guys put on weight and still have some visible muscle because pull ups and going from 10%bf to 15% isn't going to kill their physique. I started off fat and began losing weight but even I recognized that I hadn't actually built enough muscle to deserve being lean. Eventually I learned how to bodybuild and it became apparent very quickly that you'll look better at 25% body fat with muscle than at 15% with none. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but building muscle plays a huge part in giving your body its shape. Most people are fine with the physique they develop just from doing push ups, which is why ottermode is so popular. But there's a big difference between reaching ottermode with just a good diet and some exercise vs a good diet and a year or two of building your physique

    Skinny is easier, all you need to do is maintain a small caloric surplus and lift and eventually you'll get a half-decent physique. It's easier mentally and you should see a constant progression in both your physique and the gym, so it's more motivating.

    For fatties you've got to lift on a cut so you don't look horrid when you lose the weight and your strength will plateau and you'll feel weak because you're on a cut. Harder physically because of lower energy levels and mentally because you stop progressing with strength.

    Gaining muscle is much easier than losing fat so skinny guys have it easier. Because low bodyfat is the most important thing for aesthetics, a little muscle on a skinny guy looks much better than a lot of muscle on a fat guy.
    For that reason, one should never bulk. Instead, avoid getting fat as much as possible. When in doubt, always err on the side of lower bodyfat, once you're 30+ it becomes an uphill battle anyway.
