is it possible to need less than 7-8 hours of sleep a night? i only get 6 hours a night and wake up at the same 06:00 EVERY FRICKING DAY despite im supposed to wake up at 08:00
why do i keep getting only 6 hours? i am supposed to need 7 or 8

      3 hours is where all my deep sleep happens and is all I need for my body, but I need about 8 hours for my mind.

      When I only get the three hours of sleep my body feels just fine, but my schizophrenia gets so much worse.

    When I eat a vegan diet I only need about 5 hours of sleep a night.

    Eating meat increases that to about 8-9. I have tested this multiple times.

    My grandma slept less than 5 hours everyday for decades and she's bordering 100.
    There's a genetic factor on how much sleep you need.
    You might also be suffering from anxiety or depression

    High functioning anxiety perhaps.
    Unironically take 1/4 of a Benzo after doing 1 hours of weightlifting for a week. If your rhytm isn't fixed by then. Unironically search for more help.
    Also, if it gets fixed. Seek therapy. Or confront the issues.
    You have to be alone in your room or whatever, and think about what made you feel sad or wronged, then confront it. Let it happen with all the pain it had. Do this again until you are desensitized.

      Not desensitized, until you accept it or get over it.
      I had some severe trauma and that's the only way I have managed to actually be able to slowly overcome it. But, realistically speaking, people don't get over trauma, they learn to live with it. Learning to live with it is accepting that something happened instead of just freezing at the thought of it happening again. In my case, it was a very bad earthquake and some girl who bullied me to death while I was in middle school. Those memories are slowly losing power against me. But because I am confronting them.

        Between 6 to 9 hours is A-OK. Don't believe the fear mongering that the guy who wrote "Why we sleep" sold to half the world. We really don't know much about human sleep yet.
        One thing important is that, it's better to sleep earlier and wake up earlier than late and wake up late.
        Also, very important.
        If you get a chronic disease. Don't blame it on weird sleep, there's always several multifactorial issues that lead to any complication like that, also, genetics, and shit we did as kids/teens like eating too much sugar or trans fats. Or generally not exercising sooner (mostly aerobic exercise).
        Keep going. and please, stop eating coffee, processed sugars and processed fats.

        Also, live.
        Do shit you want to do, take or not your meds if needed. Or search for alternatives. But please, live. I have seen so many people focused on delaying their death by complications they don't even have or will have just to get offed by pneumonia or an accident. You never know, shouldn't know, and shouldn't think about what's going to off you. Just live, keep things as controlled as possible. Don't sleep late and try to leave something behind. Like a tree. Or having teached someone younger something useful. That will stay with you way better than a sports car or a luxury item.

    Many people after several years on the Primal Diet (the real one) report being fully rested every day after only 5-6 hours, and falling asleep extremely easy.
    It is still a good idea to supplement sleep with a short nap (45m-1h) in the afternoon, if your schedule allows (most people can't).
    It's been proven many times that an hour of sleep in the afternoon makes up for about 2-3 hours of sleep at night.

    There have been reports of people's sleep needs going down with meditation and yoga/breathwork. People report it with Buteyko also, but I personally think there may be better ways to go about fixing breathing than Buteyko. Idk.
