No such thing as fat genetics. You may need more discipline than some but being fat is a choice

How soft and pillowy you are the rest of your life is how fat you are when you are growing up and going through puberty. If you're a fat teenager you can cut weight later but you will still have the fat cell distribution and when you put back on weight it will be distributed just like it was when you were fat.

Completely untrue, I was rail thin as a teenager because I did lots and lots of very high rep BWE. Now i'm fat. I'm working out and all that jazz, diet, etc, but still around 18-19% bf. Now I'm getting old and it's probably over.

But anyway, you're full of shit.

So you’ll never really be fixed? Sounds like fats are better off eating less than losing the fat.

I can’t say yet, I’m doing my fricking best but my sisters and mom long gave up. My younger sister was anorexic for a time, would only eat weekly and only a no dressing salad, and she never managed to get underweight. The month she decided to go back up to 1000cal a day she gained 15lbs back, so she gave up and figured she’d just get a bunch of cats. For me if I don’t get my 5mi ruck in every day and lift every other day and stay under 1200cal I start to gain weight. I know someday I won’t be able to keep up, but by then I’ll become an hero

No, it's absolutely not physically or biologically possible. 1000 kcal a day is not even remotely enough to sustain the basic vital functions of an adult person without taking additional energy from the body's fat reserves. There has not been a single observed patient over the course of medical history for which this was true, even counting edge cases like quadriplegic dwarves. So to claim "my sister gained 15 lbs while eating 1000 kcal a day" is about as plausible as "my sister can run 100 yards in three seconds".

Same for claiming "I can only maintain my weight at 1200 kcal if I run 5 miles a day". The physical energy required to run 5 miles, assuming the guy who posted this is of average height and weight, is already around 600 kcal. So he's claiming that he's maintaining vital functions and functioning normally at effectively ~ 600 kcal a day. Lmao, that's like claiming your car can drive 200 miles on one gallon.

Why would the fact that this study is thirty years old change anything about its validity? There's no technical or methodological aspect about it that would've been done any differently nowadays. If you think this study is wrong, produce any evidence to it being so.

And no, I'm not vaxxed, because the problem with the vaccine was that it is quite impossible to evaluate the long-term effects of a specific drug when that drug is administered just months after its invention. The people who shouted "trust the science!" went exactly against the scientific method by dogmatically proclaiming something that was impossible to know at the time, making facts fit their opinion instead of the other way around.

There are basically three ways in which genes meaningfully affect you being fat:

    1. The natural sense of appetite varies by person. Some people feel more hungry than others with the same amount of food, mostly due to insulin sensitivity (though this also depends a lot on your habits and your upbringing - if you grew up with goyslop, your sense of appetite is grossly malformed through insulin resistance and needs to be readjusted through a healthier diet).
    2. How well people can control their impulses, so their self discipline, is largely hereditary. Therefore, some people find it easier to just ignore unpleasant feelings of hunger.
    3. How fat is distributed is mostly determined by genetics, so some people might have a larger ass and legs while others may have a larger belly.

None of these factors prevent you from physically losing weight, though. You simply have to muster the self discipline to soldier through unpleasant feelings (stimulants like caffeine, ephedrine and nicotine can help), and once you've reached a low enough bf%, fat distribution doesn't matter either.

Contrary to popular belief among coping fatties, metabolic conditions (for example thyroid malfunction) do NOT pose a significant hindrance to losing weight, because no condition can lower your BMR below ~ 95 % of what it would be normally, simply because the human body is a chemical reaction that cannot be made infinitely efficient (side note: It CAN be made infinitely INEFFICIENT, so there are some very rare instances of people who have a significantly raised BMR and can eat vast amounts without getting fat - but not the other way around). So even if you suffer from severe hypothyroidism (and ignoring the fact that this can easily be treated by simply taking T4 hormone), you can adjust your diet to the fact that you have a BMR reduced by 5 %.

There's not a single person alive on earth today for whom it is physically impossible to lose weight. It's mostly a matter of psychology.

Yup, anyone who says "I starve myself and I don't lose weight" is fricking lying

It's basically like saying: "If I stop breathing, I won't die!", lol. What do coping fatties even think is the evolutionary reason for fat storage if not to provide energy in times of need? Why would a body just accumulate something that makes every single activity more strenuous and harms your health if there was no benefit to it whatsoever? Surely such genes would've left the gene pool via natural selection long ago.

You forgot nutrient partitioning. Some people have more muscle at the same activity level. Two people who eat the same, exercise the same and weigh the same could have different bf%.

    Eat less

"Eat less" is usually bad advice towards fatties. Don't get me wrong, by just eating less, you WILL lose weight. But most fatties have an absolutely atrocious diet devoid of any micronutrients and severely deficient in protein and fiber. The actual volume they eat isn't even that much, it's just that the stuff they eat is very calorie dense. When they just eat less of the same garbage, these deficiencies become worse and they feel like shit all the time. So usually, what they should actually do is eat the same (or even more!) volume, but different kinds of food that are less calorie dense and have more micros and fiber. You can eat a whole head of broccoli without reaching the calories of a single hamburger. You can eat a pound of chicken breast instead of three ounces of chicken nuggets. You can eat two pounds of boiled potatoes instead of one single serving of McDonald's fries etc.
