Why do you do flat an incline bench? Real talk, it kinda depends how delt/chest dominant you are. If you feel your chest blow up from benching you probably arent giving your front delts enough to grow from that. Which is fine, I guess youre benching for chest. But I dont see the harm in throwing in 3 sets of proper vertical pushing after that to make sure your front delts get the attention they deserve. Worst case youll have two exercises hitting them, which is good because theyre impossible to overtrain
the thing i hate about ohp is im fricking weak and can barely do it after i do bench press or incline bench
i’m desperately benching for chest yes

Bro all is well. We are all weak at the gym. It doesnt matter, in fact its great to see how much room you have to improve. Just do OHP. It doesnt matter that you suck, youll get better, stronger and your shoulders will get way bigger.

Do you want big shoulders or not ?

How about a push day with chest focus and one with shoulder focus? Whats your level anyways? Are you an utter noob?

so like this?
Push A
OHP then Flat Bench
Push B
Incline Bench
Flat Bench
idk what level but i was able to bench 225 for 1 rep some time ago

Yes and no. Dont do incline and flat on the same day. >Push A >heavy, lower rep bench >light, higher rep OHP (maybe machine or whatever)
>push B >heavy OHP >lighter, high rep bench

i alternate benching and ohp between days

If you have to do both on the same day and you hit them twice a week then do one day with OHP before bench and the other day the other way around.
>3 sets
3 fricking sets are nothing but a waste of time; you can just leave them out and get exactly the same amount of gains. Do it properly or not at all

Wut? What sets and reps would you suggest and why? I do 3x10 on ohp

Lmao maybe try training hard for once. 3-4 working sets is enough in a workout that doesnt focus entirely on that muscle. Also I didnt say he should do 3 sets for shoulder total, just as vertical pressing. If you dont get anything from 3*8-15 reps seated DB OHP or something youre definitely not using enough weight
Using multiple question marks is more for visual, literary effect. It's generally accepted in informal writing and could affect your reader's perception. However, when it comes to formal writing, one question mark is more than enough to get your point across.
Incline bench doesn’t take the front delt through it’s full ROM so you’re missing gains there. I’d say OHP plus one bench variant is the best for aesthetics as flat and incline will make your chest a lot bigger proportionally to your deltoids
Yes. Big weights = big muscles
You won’t lift big weights with lateral raises, OHP is the way.
My 2 cent : use dumbells for a bigger stretch and angle (barbell will turn this exercise into an upperchest/front delt only lift, not even talking about behind the neck press, shit will frick up your rotator cuff and/or decapitate you)
how often in your life are you doing an OHP movement?... be honest anon. I spent most of my life blue collar and in the military and I cant really remember a single time someone said "HEY MOTHERFRICKER YOU GOTTA PUSH 300 POUNDS ABOVE YOUR HEAD"
if you can name a billion name three times... and then ill tell you why you should have used your legs, a ladder, pulled etc.. etc..
training isolation pushing above your head without using accessory muscles is pure autism. just do olympic lifts (clean and jerk, power clean, squat snatch, power snatch) all make more sense than "okay anon you gotta only use your shoulders for this"
Im going to say yes, especially because you are lfiting for aesthetics.
Stranding OHP "knits" the upper body to the lower body in a natural, athletic way that doing them seated does not. Think about all the ab, lower back, laterals, "core" work that must happenh when you do a proper OHP, which includes a little layback. Upper pecs get hit (so you drop that out -just focus on flat) and triceos get incredible stretch and overhead extension.
Too many guys do "shoulder presses" seated, and are actually doing a high incline bench press. They lean back and drive the bar in front of them. A proper standing OHP makes you press the bar up vertical, lock it out, which in turn hits all three heads of the deltoid (even the rear, as it , must contract to satibilize the humerous in the join) the upper back, the traps, etc. Purposefully tryuing to "isolate" the shoudlers is both 1) stupid (why isolate? To stayt small ands weak?) and not even possible - other muscles will always come into play, so whey denty them their natural role?
The nice thing about doing standing OHP is that it allows one exercise to replace a bunch of bullshiot. And getting to 2 plates overfricking head is God Tier shit.
Compliments very well lateral raises and/or any delts exercise. If lifting for aesthetics, I recommend you to do them seated with dumbbells to minimise uneven development.
Standing barbell OHP? absolutely not. Some kind of seated vertical pressing? Absolutely.
why is vertical pressing necessary???
You will get a deeper cut at the top of your bicep.
Do properly develop your front delts.
but i’m already working front delts through flat and incline bench

Why do indians and/or zoomers use multiple question marks in their sentences like this
Using multiple question marks is more for visual, literary effect. It's generally accepted in informal writing and could affect your reader's perception. However, when it comes to formal writing, one question mark is more than enough to get your point across.
If you do incline bench then it's not really necessary
thank u anon
i will continue to focus on incline bench
Incline bench doesn’t take the front delt through it’s full ROM so you’re missing gains there. I’d say OHP plus one bench variant is the best for aesthetics as flat and incline will make your chest a lot bigger proportionally to your deltoids
take into account that the front delts might get more gains this way but will become overdeveloped if the other heads aren't trained adequately
LUST PROVOKING

damn so i really can’t replace it with lat raises and face pulls???
Do you want big shoulders or not ?
do you just believe whatever the last person who talks to you tells you?
yes
All of the studies agree that sets above 10 force the most hypertrophy
Lol what homosexual DOESN'T want to do an OHP? It's one of the best feeling lifts.
No but it's impressive when you finally OHP 2pl8. Grils like it.
>i’m lifting for aesthetics
what does this mean?
It means he's afraid of lifting heavy.
No, deadlifts, OHP and bench press do shit all for mass.
You're insanely moronic
Do you deadlift, OHP and bench?
Deadlift and bench. I do seated DB for shoulders. Once in a blue moon I OHP just for funzies.
Correct if youve been lifting for >2 years, wrong if youre a noob. Also rep ranges are very important here
derplifts give you ass and erectons. bench gives you pecs if you dont tuck too much. ohp? maaaybe it grows delts but probably it just looks cool.
Yes. It's called military press for a reason. Stop being a b***h
Sam Sulek doesn't do OHP and made a pretty good argument on why its useless/how front delts already get plenty of work.
Just spam incline bench at like 45 degrees and then do more side and rear delts and OHP is pretty redundant.
Sam Sulek is also a roidtroony
So he doesn't do the exercise thats useful for everyday stuff
how often in your life are you doing an OHP movement?... be honest anon. I spent most of my life blue collar and in the military and I cant really remember a single time someone said "HEY MOTHERFRICKER YOU GOTTA PUSH 300 POUNDS ABOVE YOUR HEAD"
I can name a billion different times where I've had to fricking LIFT THINGS OVER MY HEAD stupid Black person use your brain
if you can name a billion name three times... and then ill tell you why you should have used your legs, a ladder, pulled etc.. etc..

>name three times
the last three weekends throwing your mom's ankles back behind her head
She looks like a latina stewardess I used to bang.
dumbbell ohp > barbell for side delt gains
lat raises are a secondary lift. do a bunch of incline/ohp and finish your shoulders off with the laterals. Skip flat bench.
