I can’t tell if this is serious or not and idk who that is but someone like that doing PSMF is moronic.
PSMF is meant, particularly for strength athletes, to be done for 3-6 weeks at a time to quickly cut fat without it truly affecting your performance long term. Of course you’ll be weaker while doing it, but the idea is it’s a short enough duration that upon resuming normal diet you can still hit your normal numbers within a week rather than run it for half a year and then after stopping realize you lost 100lbs on all your lifts and have to spend months gaining it back.
That guy would have been better of doing a potato diet with the same calories. At least then it likely would have taught him how to cook and prepare his own food and then reinforce that discipline by eating 1000 calories a day.

Eliezer says it doesn't cause muscle loss, and he was getting weekly DEXA scans.

Of course he didn’t lose any muscle, he is already at the bare minimum amount required for locomotion. How the body deals with necessary musculature is not at all applicable for how the body would deal with luxury muscle. We were wrong to surpass natural selection to a degree where people who are this bad at decision making and extrapolating sense from data are not only living past childhood, but also thriving in society. What this man does to his body with the lack of exercise and shit nutrition followed by periods of diets that nuke his endocrine system is without a doubt riskier than a few moderate well planned cycles. If you are a natty who lifts and currently thinking of doing this shit fast to get cut, I would recommend taking a good cycle including a cutting agent. Same chances of fricking your shit up but one gets you jacked and the other will burn half your muscle.

Unless you weight a ton of weight it is not advisable to fast. As long as you're only overweight you can get better results by just eating at a caloric maintanence and increasing your steps per day, cardio and generally upping the volume on your training.

Obviously you will lose weight with it because its a big deficit. But what then? It's not maintainable forever and you have not learned out to do something sustainable.
