There's so much contradicting information about it that I can't decide which side is right. Health experts like Aajonus Vonderplanitz and Gatis Lagzdins stress the importance of sunbathing, the latter going as far as to say that it's the "fountain of youth" yet when I look at images like pic related things look different.

Normal tan makes you look a lot younger and healthier.
What amount of time do you need to spend for a "normal tan" and how are you so sure that it doesn't age you in the long term?
15 minutes 3 times a day is enough. It's not enough to age you but it's enough to give you a little bit of a tan
>It's not enough to age you
Proof?
>PWOOOF?!?/1/1/1/
fricking die homosexual
>but it's enough to give you a little bit of a tan
proof?
If people with sun look like ass why would you think the people have any credibility.
A tan might make you look more vibrant but long term tanning will make you look like a leather bag.
The solution then is to not tan or to tan only very briefly throughout life. Be 90 paleface and then spend a few minutes in the sun over a few weeks and you'll look goat.
Natives age like shit regardless of sun exposure
how? theyre asian
huffing gas and chugging Listerine tend to ruin your body
95% of them are either overweight their whole life, alcoholic, or both. I live in an area with 6 different tribes, see tons of natives, and I have never seen one that was fit.
chinese just look older
Excessive UV rays=more wrinkles later in life
Sunlight is necessary to make use of the vitamin D in your body. Get a light to moderate amount of sun on your body, wear a hat/mineral sunscreen for face/neck. Your body is gonna wrinkle and sag a bit no matter what, plus it is a much larger surface area for sun absorption in minimal amount of time meaning less cumulative exposure.
>Get a light to moderate amount of sun on your body
Which is?
It was posted above, but 15-45 minutes during the day is sufficient, better if broken up a bit. You don't need to burn your skin.
20 minutes of uv a day is optimal
People ignore that it's not sunlight as much as wind that causes skin damage to the face.
Being outside 24/7 means you have near constant wind and therefore friction brushing against your face.
garbage. UV exposure fricks with your dna and ages you. it also boosts vit D and mood, so swings and roundabouts....
bob marley died of skin cancer
Wrinkles are actually from the wind blowing your skin back
exactly
post nose israelites
You morons will say anything to forego admitting that baking out in the sun is bad for you, kek.
wrinkles are god's way of letting other people know what kind of person you are
smile lines, nasolabial folds, and crows feet will never be ugly because they show that you smile enough for it to have worn into your face
tanning will age you, but who really fricking cares? basically at 50 are you going to care if you have wrinkles?
as long as you don't have skin cancer in your family and don't repeatedly burn and peel, it's not tremendously dangerous
putting sunblock on your skin is infinitely worse than getting sun exposure, since at least the sun isn't dumping 38 different potentially endocrinologically disruptive chemicals directly onto your skin.

I recommend Shea butter as an alternative.
At the age of 60 your only responsibility should be to chill around and play with your grandchildren and at that point only people to pay you any interest is your family and life long friends.
>"the way you look defines your personality & other dumb dumb shit can't think braindead blahblahblah ect"
nasolabial folds are one the least aesthetic features there is. There's a reason chudjak is drawn with them.
>nasolabial folds are least aesthetic
So why do all of the world's most attractive men have them?
Sunbathing is a waste of my time.
Yeah, our time here on IST is very valuable.
Do black people need to wear sunscreen?
I just think it's a little odd that the sun, one of the main things that made complex life possible on earth, something that has been here with us since the dawn of time, providing us with plenty of warmth and light, should be harmful to us. Shouldn't we by this time have evolved some kind of mechanism to protect us against it? I know there's dark skin that gives some protection, but not completely
I sunbathe a lot balls butthole everything. But the sun is powerful enough to light and heat the earth of course it’s powerful enough to harm you also
>I sunbathe a lot balls butthole everything
based
if you have white skin, you're not meant to be below 35 degrees of latitude, realistically
the only reason white people can live in the American south is firstly A/C and second the agreeableness of climate there. Dallas is basically the same latitude as fricking fallujah and north africa. The temperature can be okay there, but the sun index is way too high
it's also why blacks get rickets
black people aren't meant to be ABOVE 30 degrees of latitude north. a black person trying to live in Maine or Ireland or Sweden is just a stupid, moronic idea. You'll spend your entire life totally depleted of vitamin D
>b-but muh schizo sun worship shit
shut the frick up
sun basking at high latitude is totally fine, in fact it's what you and your wife should do in the spring in Europe since you should have concieved a child around February and you'd have been eating stored food with lower nutrition. it gives the child important first trimester vitamin D and is good for your bones after winter
blasting your skin with low latitude sun is poisonous because the UV is sufficiently dense and high energy that it blasts right through your layer of melanin and burns your skin
also the best time to bask, especially in europe/NA is not midday, but morning and evening, because there's fractionally less UV, and proportionally far more IR. infrared is spectacular for you and is very good for your skin because it's gentle and non-ionizing and activates fibroblasts. this is because of rayleigh scattering which reduces the amount of IR that makes it through the atmosphere at peak sun proportional to UV
Good thing I live in Sweden. Hell Sol!
I don't care, I sunbathe and I love it
Went for a hike in the mountains on sunday and got bad sunburns but oh well, it'll turn into a tan in a week
You dont need science to understand why the sun damages your skin
UV light is literally low grade radiation burns. When you get a tan your skin is coping with the dangerousness of this light by decreasing the amount of UV that can pass through.
everytime you get sunlight exposure your skin is getting slightly damaged
Get sun in morning and evening. Stay out of sun at midday and afternoon.
only good post itt
you can still tan and get the benefits of sun with SPF, you just won't have the skin of a ballsack
It depends on your ethnicity and how far north you live. In Norway you're unlikely to get too much sun, but in texas or spain you need to watch out.
I have a natural tan from eating carotenoids. Also I’m black with a caramel complexion lmao
Smart people understand that ageing is a metabolic problem. Pseudo-experts and shills always try to present the natural world as pathological and the solution is always some sort of Product. As though we are born needing to use sunscreen, born needing humalog, born needing ozempic. The modern diet causes all modern diseases including cancer. Stop eating modern foods (the more recent, the worse it is for you) and you don't need to worry about the sun.
I'm wearing it right now. Face, neck, and arms.
it makes your skin look older but you live longer and healthier.
