I've started going out shirtless for 15 minutes to enjoy sun benefits, and I've turned signficantly browner over time and now can enjoy a strong sun for 30 minutes at a time with no burns. Is this damaging my skin at all? Hope not

this is the way nature intended if you think about it, if man lived outside all year long then from winter - where there is almost no sun - all the way to peak summer the change is gradual and slow.
im speaking about conditions in northern part of the world, not near the equator where being black stops being a liability and becomes useful
forgot to add: I start wearing shorts outside as soon as possible, but only go bare chest when im at the beach and such, very rarely walk around the street without a shirt. I NEVER get sunburn on my legs.
Yes, sadly all sun induced damage to the skin (your skin getting brown is only a reaction to that damage) is cancer inducing, although not as badly as if you get a sun burn. Also the skin doesn't forget and the damage adds up over a lifetime. I love being in the sun and getting a tan though, hope I'll be at peace and not hate myself if I get skin cancer at 50 frick.

My 92yo grandfather always said that the best part of his life was his childhood followed by his retirement and that everything in between was when he had to work the hardest and didnt have time to enjoy life as much as he was doing it in his 80s and 90s. >tldr I dont agree with you and other people dont aswell,just my life experience
