Been using one for 5 years. Weighted chinups or pullups, no problems.

You're the meme here. And the homosexual.

        >Can't do muscle ups
That's like saying that dumbbells are a meme because they're shit for deadlifts.

        Destroys your house

        You rent an apartment

they ruin your doorframe and don't even stay locked in if you're over 180 lbs.

I can do muscle ups on them by putting my palms on the neutral grip part then treating it like a ring muscle up

It’s true. I used a doorframe pull up bar and my house is destroyed. It’s just a smouldering pile of rubble now.

A million times better than nothing. But it's definitely not better than any other option out there. Get the kind that slides into brackets you drill into the frame if you just want to do doorway pullups.

My ex’s mom got one of these, both of them said they were gonna use it all the time and get in shape. That thing became a coat rack within a week before she sold it, anyone who buys one of these is either too rich or a lazy moron

How do you do sets when doing pull ups? I'm very weak and can only do maybe 4-5 before completely losing the strength to do more. can barely do any more without taking like a 30 minute break

The "burnout" effect is very common and I also experience it with this exercise. I enjoy foregoing traditional set/rep ranges and aiming for higher volume in terms of an absolute # of reps. Grease that groove!
Example: Client (you) and your related pull up performance descriptors.
Prescription: Perform 20 pullups during any given amount of sets. Progression using this metric could look like:
Day #1 Goal: 20pullup reps: 3-3-3-3-3-3-2. Day #2 Goal: 21pullup reps: 3-3-3-3-3-3-3. Day #3 Goal: 22pullup reps 4-3-3-3-3-3-3 or 3-3-3-3-3-1 and so forth. If using 3 reps for set is too much to start, simply lower the amount and bang out more sets. 2-2-2-etc.
Alternative: Perform sets of 2-3 pullups until form is disgusting or you can no longer perform the exercise.
Example: 3-3-3-3-2, next attempt: 3-3-3-3-3-1, next attempt: 3-3-3-3-3-2, and so forth. Same logic applies to this set/rep range as well; if you can't get several sets of 3, then just start with 2 until you get to like 10 sets and then move onto 3+.
Main objective is just to get in that volume. You can play around with doing more or less sessions per week/day, but I tend to prefer 2-3 per week. Three sessions per week sounds perfect for someone new to the game. Goodluck anon

        Day 1 3, 2, 1, 1
        Day 2 3, 2, 1, 1
        Day 3 3, 2, 2, 1
        Day 4 3, 3, 2, 1
        Day 5 4, 3, 2, 1
        Day 6 Off
        Day 7 4, 3, 2, 1, 1
        Day 8 4, 3, 2, 2, 1
        Day 9 4, 3, 3, 2, 1
        Day 10 4, 4, 3, 2, 1
        Day 11 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
        Day 12 Off

^ this anon's got the right idea as well. I personally see really good progress with a little extra volume, but you'll see strong results either way.

You'll progress the fastest if you do as many as you can no excuses don't stop until you drop and then rest for 20 seconds and do it again for what few reps you can and then rest 20 seconds and do it again for the last time no more chances this is it and then be patient and take as many days as you need to be recovered enough to do more plus one day to be certain.
