Is there a single peace of cooked meat you can actually digest and absorb?

People always claim how cooked meat is better yet not a single person can prove that. Not even a single proof. And here's a very simple way to prove the opposite, by what you expel. With raw meat it's close to nothing because almost everything gets absorbed while with cooked meat pretty much everything and more, wonder why?

Cooked food is literally more toxic and helps spread worms.

It's true that lots of nutrients are lost while cooking any food(not just meat). But the fact of the matter is that taint and parasites are factor as well. Even if you hunted your own meat, you would have to know how to treat it properly and eat it relatively fresh. So for stuff like regular supermarket meat, it's completely off the table to trust eating it raw. Even local or never frozen stuff.

Well, you're supposed to get good stuff.

      cooked meat has more nutrients
i googled it a long time ago we evolved to cook meat for a reason

Then you would be able to prove it.

What exact nutrients are lost by cooking?

        Anonymous

Not her, but it depends on how much you're cooking. Every single nutrient will be lost if you cook the meat so much that it's burned. It's basically a spectrum from no nutrients lost (raw) to all nutrients lost (burned) with a slow degradation in between.

Heating isn't the same as burning. Cooking, on the other hand, is just the precursor to burning.

Cooking is heating, not burning, it's only burning if you frick it up

If I take a piece of meat that is sitting at 10c and I change its environment so that it's sitting at 30c, that's heating, but it's not cooking. The meat is still raw. If you raise the heat to the point where the meat starts to change color, that's cooking. The change in color is a sign that the meat is changing chemically, and is degrading in quality. If you keep that process going for a while, then it's considered burned.

                Anonymous

It's changing chemically in the sense that the protein is being denatured, which means the aminoacids will be more easily digestible
You are confusing denaturing with oxidizing, which is what happens when something burns. If you char your meat, then you have a problem, because THAT'S burning

                >It's changing chemically in the sense that the protein is being denatured, which means the aminoacids will be more easily digestible
Yet all of the people who eat raw meat will confirm that raw meat is a lot easier to digest than cooked meat.

Softer cooked meat for weak basedboy jaws is what people mean when they say more digestible. You are confusing that and associating it with protein breakdown as better for consumption when it isn't. Either way, the protein itself is not a real issue because it's just a macro and the protein loss from cooking is not significant. It's the micronutrients from the wild (not factory) animals and the minerals/vitamins their raw muscles accumulate for their owns storage and result of their bodily processes. That is what is really lost to a big margin when cooked.

It's litterally impossible for cooked anything to have more nutrients than raw. Black person did you fall asleep during high school chemistry class?

Not the anon, but I did fall asleep during those classes
Can you explain your reasoning to why cooked meat has less bioavailable nutrients? Also, which exact nutrients are lost? Are there ones that are not lost?

          Anonymous

Cooking or heating anything makes it undergo chemical processes regardless of how basic it is. For starters, the fat and blood are usually melted off or leak out and evaporate as gas too. There are plenty of both micro and macro nutrients in those. I'm not going to get into hyper specific detail, because if I have to explain something like this to you then you are underage.

            Anonymous

The only thing that evaporates is water, which is useless because you drink it from your water filter. Fat will not evaporate at stove temperatures, the proteins in blood also will not

              Anonymous

There is significant water content in all food and it also carries nutrients because it's in the body. Juice is just water now? How fricking dumb are you. It isn't just the liquids or stored fat, the protein itself breaks down over time when heated. The difference between burnt/cooked/raw like another Anon said.

Alo I will reiterate, you are moronic and most likely victim of American public education. Ples have a nice day

It can go both ways but there's no reason cooking it can't render it more bio-available, depending on what you're cooking.

The Maillard reaction will break down and reform amino acids in ways that can reduce the proteins nutritional content, but at the end of the day the brown crust of a steak is only a couple percent of the whole piece.

  7. 6 months ago

Daily reminder that denaturing is not burning, and that denaturing actually helps you digest protein more easily and makes more aminoacids avaliable to you because more protein will be able to get digested

tried both cooked and raw and nothing changes except some few cuts and animals i find to be better either cooked or raw, the excreta is the same every time, same consistency, same timing and same bulk. and i isolated the variables unlike you, meaning eating only meat and not taking supps of any kind (not fully carnitard rn but like 85% of what i eat is meat and eggs).
