Is there any actual benefit to deadlift or is it all just for ego? I dont see the point to risking your back just for the sake of your ego unless youre earning money off of it.

Just a meme exercise that youtube gym experts pretend is good.
Probably not a huge risk to your back if you focus on form and building up strength. Problem is, it's really tempting to keep moving up because you have those powerful glutes, the biggest muscles in the human body. That and it takes a lot of work and awareness to have proper form.
it makes you strong, thick and resilient and it's not high risk at all unless you train like a moron. training like a moron does not entail that your form isn't perfect, it has more to do with building up to heavy weight progressively and properly recovering by the way.

I believe its high risk even with proper form.
but it isn't and form is also overrated.
Are you really arguing with a competitive strongman?
yep
Why are you gay
>form is also overrated.

wrong pic but frick it
It's probably the most injury prone movement of all time. Or squats. Sure, if done correctly there is nothing wrong with it, but plenty of people think they are doing it correctly until they are fricked for life.

best way to stay pain and injury free is to stay weak. you definitely want to avoid stressing the tissues of your body so that they can strengthen in response to the stimulus.
You can strengthen those muscles in other ways with less injury risk.
I'm not saying don't deadlift. I'm not going to personally, I can get 80-90% of the same results with other movements that are much safer, so I will.
Should also mention I hex bar deadlift semi regularly. No wear near max weights, but it's something I incorporate.
no you can't you're fooling yourself.
Done correctly and not taking it to the extremes while giving proper rest times makes it a lot less risky. The problem with deadlift is it's so easy to ego lift on and so dangerous when you do ego lift. It's good to train though because it is a functional exercise. How often do you lift something like it's a lat raise compared to lifting something like it's a deadlift after all? It's a good way to practice proper lifting form for real life situations.
Reverse hypers can make you almost an inch taller. They decompress the spine. Add dead hangs and an inversion table for more height gains.
Deadlift compresses the spine, making you slightly shorter.
they make you nice and meaty

There's no reason not to do deadlifts even if you don't go too heavy, I'd say 140kg is enough
Yes. I have a fat gf. I train dl so I can lift her off the bed and fricked her stand-and-carry style
It's a really nice lift. It also has a lot of potentially life altering risks.
It's not worth it in my opinion. But if you think it's worth it for you then go for it. I see too many old people with fricked up backs crying about constant pain.
I don't want that.
