Yes. Because there are more muscle groups than those used in chinups and dips.
>health
Depends on what you mean by health. All forms of exercise can contribute to general health. >functional strength
All strength is functional. The only thing that matters is that you effectively strengthen all your muscle groups. You can do isolations on machines and get as much functional strength as you need. You'll get as much functional strength as you will doing powerlifting with a barbell or calisthenics. It really doesn't matter which one you do in this case. The "functional strength" as opposed to any other kind of strength is just a moron and false meme.
I agree but still, calisthenics trains your muscles proportionally for those movements rather than doing 8 different isolation exercises which could give you the same strength but is almost certain to lead to more imbalance than doing calisthenics. And I say this as a guy who did nothing but weights for yeaaaars and switched to focus more on calisthenics (still keeping some major weights in the mix) and I feel better and stronger than ever
You should do everything. Maybe not that much the stuff on the left but ok. Perhaps something more useful like carrying a 40 to 70 kg sand bag 100 meters far.
>Is there any reason for sports cars to exist if trucks are more powerful?
Come on, now. Higher overall power vs higher power to weight ratio. Either choice is fine, for aesthetic reasons or functional living. You need to figure out what you want personally.
Fwiw the memes about women responding more to lean/strong men vs big/strong men are true. Powershitting is better than being dyel but ripped is king in dating

This conversation has nothing to do with morality, but if there is one thing I can state with objective certainty at this moment, it's that you're a colossal homosexual.

Lol, this website. You should reassess your life and decisions that led you to this point.
If you can't do 10 pullups or 5-10 clean toes to bar then it probably highlights some problems that need rectifying, yes.
Most strength coaches will prescrible cardio and calisthenics if the lifter is a typical sharter that can't even do 3 pullups
to be a competitive powershitter in weight classes you need to be somewhat lean, otherwise you get rekt by people in your weight class with more muscle and less fat.
my former powershitting coach can do 30+ pullups despite being a very big guy. it's a sight to see.
the fatsos you see are non-competitive SS morons who just want to lift heavy without regard to weight classes. they are not powerlifters, they're just hobbyists.
Should I just only do calisthenics if I'm all about health and functional strength?
Yes. Because there are more muscle groups than those used in chinups and dips.

oh hi 'anon'
You should only do calisthenics if you're all about being small and weak but lean
You honestly enjoy looking like left?

I can smell the r*ddit on you
Incel dyel opinion discarded
Powerlifting is a valid choice in life.
If you're going to take a hobby(you don't make money out of it) why take something it will require you to have subpar aesthetics?

Based moderation enjoyer. I bet you even take a wiener in the ass from time to time for the sake of moderation, right?
how much easier are chins than pullups?
your lifting routine determines your tan and bodyfat and face
i'm very smart
>I could do many pullups even though I'm a fat piece of shit because I am LE STRONG
como coño esta tan fuerte con una dieta de porros y mandarinas
Boys is Lobo still alive?
Why not both? A person should be able to 2xbw deadlift and 10 strict pullups
>spend 4 hours doing 500 reps per day
>still look weak
Amazing
