Too quick. You're going to lose muscle and end up skinny fat. How tall are you? Considering you're a normal male, you probably don't have to cut below 140 lbs ever. You have time, take it slow. Building even a lb of muscle mass is much harder and takes much longer than it is to lose a lb of muscle while cutting too fast. Try to minimize muscle loss. Go for 1 lb loss per week. More than that, you're hurting yourself (not just because of muscle loss, but will mess you up long-term due to malnutrition and shock etc. and you might even gain it all back if you cut that quick as it messes with the hormones and thyroid etc.as well).
Take it from a man that lost almost 50 lbs last year. My brother did the same, a little more, like 70lb, but he did it over a couple months while I took my time. I am in much better condition now than he is in every way.
>Too quick. You're going to lose muscle and end up skinny fat.
What if I up my protein intake? >how tall
I'm 5'7 >cut below 140
Well I've never been 140 so I don't know. 130 is the goal because it's just where I assume shredded abs will be at. 21 BMI.
140 could very well be a good stopping point, but I doubt it. You have to be extremely low weight to get the body I want.
>Try to minimize muscle loss. Go for 1 lb loss per week. More than that, you're hurting yourself
You see I thought about that, but 1lb a week puts me at 28 weeks or 6 1/2 months just to lose weight. Thats so slow and monotonous. I know it's not a race but 2lbs a week is also considered healthy.
Once the data comes in I'll take my week 2 and 3 average loss and reevaluate my loss per day. If week 2 and 3 is still above 2.0 then I'll slow down and add more protein shakes in my diet. If week 2 and 3 is around 1.5-2 then I won't make any changes.
The reason I won't use week 1 is because water weight loss inflates the loss per day. Right now my current week 2 loss is calculated at 1.96lbs. Not too bad but still the upper end
>What if I up my protein intake?
Nope. You should absolutely be taking more protein on a cut (as well as working out), but if the body is starving badly, it will grab whatever source of energy it has, be it muscle tissue. >130 is the goal because it's just where I assume shredded abs will be at. 21 BMI.
Don't, and I repeat, DO NOT take BMI measures for determinining when you will start seeing abs. Abs are dependant on bodyfat percentage not BMI. You can be really high BMI and be low bodyfat (because muscle weighs a lot, but it's not fat and you will have shredded abs with a muscular physique even if it's not at the right BMI). If you end up skinny fat, doesn't matter if your BMI is extremely low, your weight is mostly fat and very little muscle, hence you will not see your abs (and it is not healthy either; Being lower in weight won't give you better cardiovascular health, for example, being low fat will.)
And yeah, 2 lbs should be fine as well. Def keep it between 1 and 2 though, if you're trying to do it quick. Shouldn't go over 2 lb imo.
Also, not only protein, but make sure you get at least the minimal amount of carbs as well. A lot of people losing weight cut out carbs entirely and that fricks up their metabolism, so they gain the weight back really quickly.
I don't know. Obviously it's not going to be "abs always show at 21 BMI" but the lower you get into your BMI shows the range you can still be healthy and lean. Being on the lower end of the spectrum is better because high muscle mass and leanness is only possible with drugs. You'll never be 25 BMI with shredded abs unless you're on drugs.
I'm not doing full keto, but I am doing a low carb diet. Seems to work so far.
nta but I'm 6'3, 210 lbs with somewhat visible abs (about 15% bf), would be completely shredded if cut down barely 5-10 more pounds. Been working out barely a year, and totally natty. But BMI says I'm overweight, 26. So you can definitely naturally achieve a high BMI with abs physique quite easily even.
You need to cut slower because if not your body goes into starvation mode and fricks up your metabolism and/or thyroid. Then you’ll have a really hard time keeping weight off.
I have the exact same height, I did the same thing and I looked awful at 140 with no muscle. I think you would be better off just getting to 150 then just focusing on strength training and diet to get your BF down and muscle mass up.
I'm cutting right now, but from a higher weight and as soon as I am under 160 I'm done caring about my weight and just focusing on BF via diet.
Why do you guys assume I have no muscle? I've gotten to a point where I want to be shredded and a boss is calisthenics. I'm not weak or dyel. I deadlift 4pl8s. Bench and squat 2pl8s
>Seeing my abs isn't the problem. I want to be shredded.
Why? Do you believe it will give you the confidence you don't have? It won't. You're going to have to work on your personality. Something you're trying to avoid at all costs.
Guys who have never lost weight, will never lose weight, and will only gain weight will tell you that you're cutting too fast. If it's working for you, that's all you need to know
You again!!!
Frick ya mudda
What did I do?
I want a tuna melt today but I might skip it since it looks like I'm still losing around .4bs a day
I just looked at my weight estimate calculations from yesterday.
>day 12 estimated weight
153.598
>day 12 actual weight
153.6
Thats right on the mark. And you homosexuals in the other thread said it was too early for data analysis.
It is good if you don't gain it back inthe next 12 days.
I hope not. I struggle with binging on weekends but I won't this weekend. I feel stronger today than before.
>cutting when you weigh less than 200lbs
Lol, why
Because I want abs. I'm 5'7 150 is 24 BMI. I want to be 130 and be 21 BMI
Anon, did you lift? Don't end up like me. I cut from almost your exact weight to 125 and looked like this. Now I have to gain muscle and cut again.
Don't worry. I'm actually very strong, but I appreciate the concern. At 130 I'm set to be model level lean and athletic
clean your bathroom you disgusting slob
im convinced only 30 people use this board. also ur really cut pls be ny bf
It really is a small number. Sub 50 definitely
A small number actually uses it and posts body. The rest are just blackpiller incels
Weighing over 200lb is morbid obesity unless you're like 6'5 and above.
Right. What the hell is wrong with people. Too many fat people policing body weight when they look like a sack of potatoes
Doomer posting

Post body? For reference?
Why is it everytime you ask a BMI denier to post body they ghost?

Went too fast. Bye bye test bye bye muscles. It's over.
Why do you post every day?
Because at this point it's fun.
My estimated weight for tomorrow using my original formula is 153.187.
My estimated weight for tomorrow using my calculated week 2 average is 153.32
Let's see which one hits

How can you say frick you to a guy trying to lose weight and do better? Where does that even come from?
You need to have muscle if you want visible abs. If you’re really 5’7 and 153lbs and your abs aren’t already visible, then you’re not muscular enough
Seeing my abs isn't the problem. I want to be shredded

No. It is a dumb weight loss. You will fail. You are losing too much too quickly.
1.5 pounds a week should be your goal.
Guys who have never lost weight, will never lose weight, and will only gain weight will tell you that you're cutting too fast. If it's working for you, that's all you need to know
