I don't know I saw this image yesterday and tried rowing for 30 minutes in the gym today and it felt pretty easy. Also I don't know how exaggerated the movements you're supposed to make are, so I maintained a pretty stiff but upright upper body posture.

Meaning the graphic in OP image, not the picture of rowers.
OP, is this bait?
I'm starting to think 90% of the threads started on this board are bait
apart from the generals, it seems like sincere posts are the exception
I don't have schizophrenia nor am I autistic so I'm not following your thinking - why would this be a bait post?
I dont know man. Ive hit level 10/10 on the rowing machines at my gym and my watch and the machine say 30 mins its like 30 min hauling ass on it. I get way more fricked up on the rowing machine (also insane cardio gainz). Also, walking for 22km for 4 hours its about 1700 cal according to my watch. Calories counters are bullshit, just frick your shit up a bit more every day and you will improve.
>why would this be a bait post?
Because it's blatantly false but people will rush in to 'shed light on the issue' because of some autistic knee jerk reaction while OP just sits there and snickers to himself because he knew it was wrong already.

Is this too far off? I can see it burning 300-350 cals if you're not too adapted or on the pudgier side.
If you're roonergay I can see it barely making a dent on your TDEE, like 125 cals per hour.
Yeah it's a lie. You'd have to be really trained to burn 900 in an hour and not hurt your knees or lower back. Similarly you could probably burn 900/hr on anything assuming you add enough resistence and more importantly keep your pace up. Hell running 8 miles in an hour is roughly 800 kcal and you don't see many people trained enough to do that.
Anyways, there’s a bunch of cool equipment that scientists can use to measure calories burned, but it requires a bunch of shit. It’s called metabolic testing, but mostly only pro athletes get it.
99.99999% of “calories burned” shit you see online is made the frick up.
I’m a tard when it comes to comprehending wattage in erging I’ve only ever done split times. What does this shit even mean? Is this close to a 2:30/500m split or something?
You're not rowing hard enough. Your time is embarrassing.
Obviously sitting in a chair rocking back and forth with no intensity whatsoever is less taxing than jogging.
What's the benefit over running fast and on an incline on a treadmill, unironically?
At least that would look less moronic than going all out on a rowing machine.
It is if you actually try.
What's your 2k time?

No homo, got any rowing machine videos?

Tru turning up the resistance from 0 to 10, moron
I did it at 8 and it felt like a walk in the park.

Im moronic, 30 mins of rowing is about 300-400 cals acording to watch and machine

bummer.

only way to accurately measure calories burned at home is through a chest strap heart rate monitor.

Running always feels like the most taxing exercise, but also the most rewarding (runners high).
idk but did this today
Is that good or bad?
0 meters in just 40 mins? Holy shit
Not good, not absolute dogshit. That's like a 8 min 2k.

Looks like 2:01/500

I burn way more on the elliptical than on the rower or the bike
