Depends on the cardio your comparing it to. High intensity interval training is the best type of exercising you can do to lose weight. Not all lifting is HIIT, not all cardio is HIIT. Lifting heavy until failure or running hard until failure, that is HIIT in a nutshell.
This
HIIT increases your metabolic activity for 48 hours afterwards using more energy as opposed to jogging which returns you back to base metabolism after the exercise is over
For weightloss specifically?
Hiking up and down mountains. Pack a backpack with some water and crackers and go out for a nice 12 hour hike somewhere in nature.
This is undisputably the best form for cardio and weight loss, and the only reason it's not shilled on /here/ is due to urbanite gym zoomers being afraid of nature and/or not having access to it.
Weightlifting is not good cardio.
But weightlifting is better for losing weight.
Seems like you have your answer already, then.
nah, that's just not true
your TDEE goes up if you gain muscles, so it does. asuming OP means losing fat by "losing weight", god I hate that term
I mean yeah I should weightlift and run more.
IF you deadlift for 600 reps 100kg. i bet you burn more calories then running 15km
If you do it with a high enough intensity, it is cardio.

>no recovery
Just do both man, it's not rocket science. Lift some bloody weights, do some running/cycling/swimming and you'll be OK
