        I hiked the appalachian trail, over 2k miles, with a pack that fluctuated between 40 and 55 pounds depending on water and food.
        Lost 20 pounds of fat while eating over 5k calories a day and I never felt better afterwards save for some nasty blisters that turned black on my feet and took forever to heal.

    Used to row crew in highschool (richgay, sue me), and we would have to do a 10k erg session to warm up every day. Absolute hell. You get huge forearms from it though.
    Still, I'd rather just zone out on the elliptical for an hour or two instead.

      my friends all did crew while I did football. crew was insane and I would never want to do the cardio those dudes do. I use the erg at the gym though it's really great and you'd be a beast if you dedicated time to it.

    i sold a brand new rowing machine i got for free because i didnt have anywhere to set it up. my reasoning at the time was it didnt provide as much resistance as even bent over barbell row, i never thought about using it for cardio lmao.

    wish i still had it now that i have a garage, and my car hasnt been washed in about 4 years. definitely no point to parking that in there kek

      Make sure you research how to row correctly though. Form is way more important for rowing than any other form of cardio. You can frick yourself up if you have bad form.

      Start with 10 minutes at a slow pace and work up from there trying to get your pace per 500m down.

      Dark Horse Rowing has some good 20-30 minute sessions that very rowing intensity and speed. It's a lot more interesting than just rowing until you're tired, and once you've done them a few times you'll have them memorized.

      If you're actually trying to do some decent cardio on the rowing machine I can't imagine being able to follow something on the TV very well. Some noise canceling headphones (concept 2's are loud as frick) and a good playlist is what I'd recommend. You don't want to be stopping to skip songs and shit it'll frick up your rhythm.

        My grip isn’t failing failing but the pump becomes distracting. I feel like maybe it’s just the attachment at my gym but it’s not exactly comfortable to hold. Also I do keep my legs as far apart as the lock-in allows, I just have huge quads and even more huge balls

    Shit fricks up my back after 20 minutes. I spent 6 months watching videos and working on my form and yes I have tried sitting on my junk. Frick this machine. If it works for you good for you, but this shit ain't for me. Just gonna go watch some anime while walking on a treadmill on an incline.

    I'm so close to sub 2:00 pace for a 2k. I usually aim for that, then try to go for 10k, minimum 7k. Usually around 2:10 pace. After that, some free weights and ab work. Three, four times a week.
    I fricking love rowing.

      Dawg your rowing routine is dog shit and will never improve your 2k. Look up the Pete plan, or use the beginner Pete plan if you're a beginner with ass cardio (you are, I was able to rip a 2k at 1:42 pace my first week on the rower) Also you can use the wolverine plan, but I prefer Pete. These rowing routines are designed by people who are very competent with improving rowing performance for rowing athletes

          No dipshit, when people post rower time it's referring to their split time, which is how long it takes to row 500m, in this case 2:00, which would be an 8;00 2k. Your split time is basically your speed

      Stair master keeps you honest as long as you use the same machine and hit similar benchmarks. If you gain any weight, you'll pay for it on the stair master.

    I'm too moronic to maintain correct form, I prefer autistically flailing my arms on an assault bike, airdyne, or ski erg instead.

    I wish there was something like a cable machine but with a fan flywheel instead of weight stacks. I'd love doing a cardio based bro split routine so I can get that moron monkey total body endurance.

    Like, imagine being able to work strenuously with your arms up at chest level for 12 hours non-stop without getting fatigued. That would be awesome.
