        >"Do the opposite of whatever medical authorities say" is not a bad rule to live by generally.
So this is the chudtard mindset... first artificial sweeteners are bad, until the doctors say it's bad then they're good somehow? How about you think about it for yourself instead of just being an inverted soigoy?

          Anonymous

I already said I don't really buy aspartame being safe, so no I didn't decide it was good when doctors said it was bad. I'm just saying that generally the advice of the WHO is so bad that someone who does the opposite of what they say will be healthier.

This is literally what happened. Years of "avoid aspartame" then WHO confirms it and now they want to suck it up. Time to go eat lead then I guess.

          >added to everything
          >a bottle of coke has 150g of sugar in it and you can gulp it in a short while and not realize how many calories you consumed
          and most importantly
          >causes diabetes because it's easy to overconsume and has high gi
          >diabetes is a shortcut to things like cardiovascular disease, high bp, stroke, liver disease, etc., which are the leading causes of death.

My opinion, if you're not a fatty and you don't have problems with overeating, eating a couple of grams of sugar a day is probably better for you than artificial sweeteners. But if you're a fatty, I think the lesser evil is consuming fake sugar, since it won't give you diabetes and it doesn't have that many calories. The only problem is that some of them are possible carcinogens, but to be honest, overconsumption of sugar is going to be way worse for you than overconsumption of sucralose. And still, the evidence of them being carcinogenic is vague.

because we don't actually know how cancer babby is formed, we only have case studies of people that already have cancer and we presume that whatever they're doing is what gave them cancer-- this is literally not science, it's an educated guess at best in most non-chernobyl circumstances
one thing we do know about cancer though, is that cancer thrives on sugar; it is conclusively, irefutably proven that sugar intake makes cancers grow significantly faster

Its in corporate interest to promote artificial sweeteners, so evidence against it is against corporate interest. The stevia/monk fruit lobby is much smaller than the corporate heavy hitter of coke and other beverage creators.

Similarly, promoting that the vaccine is good and effective is in line with the corporate interest of pharmaceuticals, so if you can detect what is in corporate interest for the statement, then you can decide what studies you want to trust and studies you don't want to trust. Simple as.

It is currently impossible for human technology to eliminate rhinoviruses/coronaviruses using vaccines. They are not effective. We have been trying really hard for a century. Once we cured polio, the race was on to try and cure everything. People gave up on curing flu/cold very quickly. They are simply too volatile, they mutate and spread too quickly. The only thing a vaccine against any rhinovirus/coronavirus will do is give you a higher probability of not coming down with debilitating flu-like symptoms when you do get infected. You might want to read this sentence again, to make sure you understand. For all intents and purposes, with the technology and knowledge available to the human race today, creating vaccines for flu/cold viruses is a complete fool's errand that does literally nothing while also frivolously altering your DNA with random chunks of virus code. This isn't a conspiracy theory or some new idea. This was perfectly understood, unanimously agreed upon and literally taught in med school up until February 2020.
In a similar vein, people have been trying to pin something on aspartame for decades. The people that are most irrationally anti-vax are also anti-aspartame, and have been, again, for decades.
WHO that there is no evidence of corona existing back when /misc/ was going apeshit about how it's the apocalypse. WHO receives a significant amount of its funding contributions from the CCP and those funding contributions have been going up and up since 2019. Just pointing that out, but I'd also want to point out that the state of California, for example, has labeled every single substance on Earth as being carcinogenic. Including live wood and soil. There is no scientific method consensus here. It's just piss in the wind because some they/them pencil pushing troon threw a dart at a cork board full of case studies, turning the one paper the dart landed on into government scripture. That's the real 2020 coof/misc/ redpill. Everything is bullshit.

    Quick rundown is:

    i) They only did in vitro ie. Gave Asparate to cells in a dish (in vitro to human studies not translate well)
ii) The amount of asparate they gave to the cells were almost 1000x the amount you'd get from drinking any artifical soda, so it's utter bullshit. Even water is deadly at 1000x the recommended dosage.

TL;DR It's safe to drink artifical soda, article is shit.

the labs finding evidence of carcinogenicity are probably using shitty aspartame product

lol aspartame = cancer is a 15 year old "theory" at least, the bad rap made everyone ditch it years ago here
saccharine is king anyways, sucralose is disgusting

The metric they're using is that if you give rats 1000 sodas worth it gives them a marginal percent raise in cancer or something like that
That's known to the state of California tier
It's a carcinogen in the same manner that drinking something hot technically can give you cancer (look it up)

Zoomer detected. The whole aspartame thing was big news 20 years ago. Dick Cheney had ties to getting it FDA approved for his friend or some shit. It was back in the Iraq invasion shit show. Still not sure I believe it or not but this has been kicked around forever.

First Erythritol, then sucralose (Splenda), now Aspartame.
What the frick, that's like all the good sugar alternative.
I guess there's just Monk Fruit and Stevia left.

      sweet baby, sweet sweet baby.
you can't get sweet flavor without getting cancer.
you can't even do that miracle berry trick with citric acid or you'll get cancer. sweet flavors just trick your body into producing cancer.
      just how it is.

    >Possible
It's fricking nothing, as usual with these kinds of headlines.
Almost everything had studies saying they could be a possible carcinogen, and the rule of if it ain't "natural" it'll give you cancer is just completely moronic.
I'm sure all of you will keep eating red meat and eggs.

    >The studies that suggest a link between cancer and aspartame use several thousands times the normal human consumption.
And what if they did a little oopsie when calculating?

Also are you going to take a small chance of dying every time you drink one or consume something else? It's like buying an inverse lottery ticket every time - sure it'll probably not give you cancer, but it might.

People then wonder why cancer rates are skyrocketing.

      Anonymous

You could say that about almost literally everything you consume.

      Anonymous

????? Do you think that when you consume a carcinogen it's a lottery where you have a certain % chance to get cancer from it? When you chronically consume enough carcinogens to make a difference over a long period of time, years to decades, you are more likly to develop cancer. And aspartame has to be consumed in an unrealistic quantity to even come close to making any noticeable difference. What are you not understanding?

That study was shit, it's safe. Sadly very expensive where I live.
    >Sucralose
The evidence is still not fully convincing, but I would stay away from it just in case.
    > Aspartame
The dose makes the poison, as with everything.
    >Stevia
It's good, but often sold along with other stuff. Pure stevia is the best, but I dont want it mixed with Acesulfame, cyclamate or any other thing.
    >Monk fruit
Good but rare to find depending where you live.

It's also fair to mention that if your eating habits are in check and all you want is to put something sweet in your coffee/tea then a spoon or two of sugar are not going to do any bad.

The study was clickbait by design. It says nothing about sucralose if you actually read the article, the FIRST LINE says "sucralose-6-acetate, a structural analog of the artificial sweetener sucralose"
Sucralose-6-acetate is NOT sucralose. Its a byproduct of manufacturing. Thats exactly like saying since its possible that when you make fermented foods, bad bacteria can get in and make it toxic, eating fermented food will kill you

    2 possibilities:

They found a cheaper fake sweetener and want to destroy the old one with hit pieces.

who cares? the opportunity cost of spending all your time worrying about this shit completely insane, and you're already being subjected involuntarily to hundreds of hard carcinogens and DNA corrupting chemicals and waste products daily if you live in the first world.
the animals who run the WHO, FDA, and big pharma literally built their careers poisoning you and lowering the average quality of life on earth so that you will purchase a long list of products to slightly increase your proximity to "tolerable" 1 day at a time. They approve "drugs" which are often quite literally just novel compounds that more often than not are considered effective because they are so toxic to human cells that they trigger a desperate immune response which essentially focuses your entire body on fixing the desired cell or tissue type that the particular novel toxin targets.

the most vile people imaginable, the most sinister cabal of cyberpunk technocrat neocons built the world you live in now around this.

but make sure you choose 1 type of goyslop over the other, surely you've found some kind of loophole where you can get something that tastes good, with no calories, that isn't literally just FDA-waived poison

I'm sure the artificial sweetener manufacturers don't lobby at all. Is it that unfathomable that drinking chemical slop is not good for you? It's a massive industry, they would do anything to prove their product is safe to use.
