Why do some people get plastic clots and others don't?
I can understand why they would cause higher mortality I guess since they might be a better surface to adhere into a clot but if we're all exposed why do some clotters not get any plastic in their clots?

          Anonymous

ideally somebody will run an intervention study where they reduce plastic exposure in one group and see if they get some benefit. thats what we'd need to answer this type of question more definitively

some people still heat their food up in "microwave safe" plastics. I couldn't believe it when I saw that people actually heated up tv dinners in their original packaging (instructions say to leave plastic film on). stick to glass for food storage and especially reheating. Some stuff is unavoidable, but you can greatly reduce the amount of plastic you are consuming by not putting it in your food

Could also be blood chemistry. Something in your blood might bind to the plastic particles and help them build into clots.

Yes because weird ass shit showing up in your blood vessels is completely safe and fine and normal unless you give me randomized clinical trials in which 5000 people were kept in a microplastics restricted environment and the rest allowed to continue their plastic enriched lives and you followed up for outcomes at annual intervals for 10, 20 years.

Holy frick Black person are you stupid. And importantly, when would you have decided smoking was likely dangerous enough to justify quitting if you were born in 1920?

      >"Gee whiz all these rodents are getting cancer when we blast them with smoke"
Uhhhhhm actually rats aren't people soooo

Lmao in vitro is not the same as in vivo lolol
      >"Wow we're seeing really high rates of certain kinds of lung cancers in smokers"
Uhhhhhh correlation doesn't equal to causality, totally possible these smokers are poorer and don't eat as well
      >"No but like 1000 of them"
      I don't care lololol
      >"Also it looks like people who quit are showing improved blood flow in just a few weeks after quitting"
Lol blood flow.~=cancer, correlation equals causation these people probably were also trying to be healthier
      >"Yeah we've followed up for a few.decades and these people that quit show a reduction in cancer risk almost back to nonsmokers"
      CORRELATION
      >"And we did these twin studies where we found twins where one smoked and the other didn't and the smokers died of cancer like a bajillion percent more"
UHHMM you didn't randomize these things???? Obviously the smoking twin had all sorts of other factors going on in their life that made them do other dangerous and unhealthy stuff.

The body can't chemically dissolve microplastics, only mechanically break it down to smaller pieces, which still remain in the body.

A lot of people in this thread who have no idea what microplastics actually are, thinking they can filter it or just avoid plastic packaging (which I do anyway but it is futile). Microplastics are as small as your blood cells, it's in the water we drink, the air we breathe, it's in everyones body. It's passed through the blood brain barrier, baby's are already contaminated in the womb, it's in women's breast milk. There's NOTHING you can do to decontaminate yourself, all we can do as a species is clean up the world and issue warnings for the future generations but this will not happen because globohomosexual controls the world with an iron grip and most people don't care about what happens after they're gone.
