You must remember that women's opinions are based on whatever piece of popular media they last consumed. In this case, the magazine cover told her to like the muscular man, so she did. When a BuzzFeed article/magazine tells her that muscular men are 'so out of fashion' next week, she'll change her opinion again.

Fair point anon, but nobody in the op mentioned Olympia, bodybuilders, or anything resembling that. Just that gym guys are the worst. I agree that obviously these normies have no idea what it takes to actually look good fit, still annoying to see though.
of course, I doubt they even know what mr olympia is, I'm just guessing their idea of "gym guys" is almost definitely some roided meathead with cartoon proportions, not someone around the natty limit (who, again, they probably think got his body from playing tennis and doing 10 push-ups every morning)
Pretty sure when they most of them say shit like that they're talking about the guys themselves, not their looks. Like of course they're hot but dealing with a stereotypical gym bro just because he's hot isn't usually worth the trouble unless you're playing the same hookup game. Dudes will deal with a lot of shit if a girl is hot enough. Unfortunately for gym bros their taste in chicks are usually the same empty headed high maintenance 10's but personality wise they really want the outgoing family oriented type but as a guy I'm guessing it's really hard to settle for that while you're pulling 10's, so they end up hoping for a unicorn. They're thinking of a very specific type they were probably pulled by at some point and believed the bullshit, but these girls are moronic for ever believing those types really liked them to begin with so those girls are trash too.

When these women say "gym bodies" they're generally talking about the useless geared up bodybuilder look, which is only aesthetically pleasing to men trying to achieve the same look, and the vapid plastic barbies that hang around them at the gym.
Most women still love the obviously trained but lean and athletic look.
I was in college when the first Captain America came out. One of my female feminist friends told me that women don't like men with too much muscle and then she told me Chris Evans is an example of an attractive man who doesn't have too much muscle. Women are blinded by female privilege.

Pretty much, I don't think you can even get "big" by a woman's reckoning through natty lifting, they're completely delusional about the progression of strength and physical appearance in the gym. It's why girls shun weights because they think bicep curling 10lbs twice a week will turn them into she-hulk or something.
Basically, if a woman says she finds muscles unattractive, just ignore that because I guarantee she will immediately change her mind if she's presented with an attractive muscular man. There are countless stories of men with girlfriends and wives who pretty much turned around their sex lives by getting fit - just by having toned bodies, their women started drooling over them.
