      I prefer things like potatoes to rice in general, but either way is fine. Tons of times you just need calories. Vitamins and minerals already covered from meat and leafy greens and shit, but you just need fuel? Rice or starchy veggies, or even bread.

      Its one of the most nutrient rich foods you could have from the grain family and historically was eaten a lot throughout Europe as well prior to potatoes and rice popularity, you can also make barley bread or porridge out of it that's pretty dope.

        Honestly the more "fwooty wooty fwavor" a protein bar or powder is the more it tends to have weird frickoff ingredients in it that you probably shouldn't eat.

        A good protein powder has: protein powder, a small amount of carbohydrates, maybe a natural flavor. That's it.

        I'm not one of those "only whole foods ever!" dudes, but, if it's something you're consuming super regularly you should definitely be making sure it's at least mostly from a whole food source. The further you go from basic boring whey, the further you are from a whole food.
