Is it good or bad to pray to God for a good workout and gains?
On the one hand it seems like it's good because I'm putting my faith in God and have humility to see I only get the gains he permits me to have.
But then on the other hand it's like I am trying to use him as steroids.
Being endowed with a hale, sound and well-developed body is a moral good that can be used to enact the will of God and so counts as a worthy material aquisition to desire and thus to pray for. Very different from praying for a new car or something like that. Of course it is also good practice to pray that you all your thoughts and actions may be in accordance with His Divine will, that your practice of physical development may cultivate virtue, not that your journey to muscle will be easy but that you grow to overcome it, "broader shoulders not lighter burdens," etc, etc.
