Just returned to gym after 1.5 year hiatus. OHP was surprised how well it preserved. Got 100x5 with some difficulty but wasn't crazy hard. Previous max of 145x5.
Deadlifts though... Jesus christ. I was never a great deadlifter previous max of like 330x5. But I could only do 2 reps of 225. And they were complete grinders, legs shaking the whole way up, vision going black. You would think deadlift would hold up a little better than the OHP since it's somewhat rare in day to day life to lift overhead but use your back all the time. Anyway sorry for my blog it felt great to lift again
Is this attainable natty?
1 year starting strength ezpz
3 sets of banishing light and dark monsters from your GY
EDISON > GOATS
Black Luster Soldier is my autistic gym motivation, might get black luster ritual tattoo
Man I haven't seen this card art in 20 years. You just blasted me back to the past OP.
Didn't read your text btw.
That's okay anon. Glad I could offer some nostalgia. I've been rewatching yugioh as I learn french. It's pretty comfy
Bad decision to go so heavy first day back. Your ligaments and tendons will not thank you.
Why are you guys acting like OP was trying to lift atlas stones or something lol. It's a 100 pound press and a 2 plate deadlift
Yeah that's heavy.
maybe if you’re anemic. My first time trying OHP as a teenager I got 95 for 3x5
Time to lay off the steroids my guy.
In middle school I was about 5’10 and 185 lbs.
Heavy if you use good form*
Lets the kids burn themselves out handling weight they have no business picking up and cheating their way thru 4 reps each set lmfao. Theyll quit by the fall anyway
>first time in a gym in over a year, i think ill try a full body lift with shit form after shredding my rotator cuffs, so i can post numbers on a japanese scat fetish forum
I fricking hate yugi boomers, they ruined the game with their nostalgia pandering. have a nice day.
>I fricking hate yugi b- ACK
Anything past classic card types is gay as shit, kys with your homosexual ass pendulum, tuner, etc. bullshit
Sorry bro, but
is right. The game went to shit right around when synchro monsters were introduced. Bunch of moronic bs now like x20 effect combos on first turn, insane effects that can be played from the deck, and endless decks from constantly returning cards from the graveyard. There’s no fun whatsoever in spending the entire game to build up to a finishing attack with no traps or spells that they can use to stop AND no cards in their hand just for them to activate some bs effect from their deck which you could not possibly account for. The game is super gay now.
>Oh you're gonna destroy my overpowered card finally? I'll just tribute one of my synchros to negate that.
Games complete bullshit, anyone that defends it is a gay simple as
Yup. Dropped it real quick after a few matches of that shit. They really thought it was a great idea to not limit combos and introduce a shit ton of cards with broken effects that are impossible to counter or require half your deck to be dedicated to counters
>effectively makes whole game prior obsolete to continue selling cards
>NOOO! You just don't get the new meta, youre ruining the game!
Yea, we ruined the game lol
lol synchros were hardly when they got this bad, it's actually the hardest to summon extra deck monster now, you can see it in master duel meta where the top decks are all link xyz and fusion decks. it's pretty easy to see when you need 1 specific tuner and then another non tuner monster at the minimum, plus they need to add up levels, while fusion, xyz, link can all be easily splashed with generics. and too many fusion monsters do the contact fusion shit where you don't need to use a fusion card, same with xyz rank ups
and I would argue it's more around when they started introducing pendulums that they really went crazy with the solitaire play. your nostalgia is a lot worse though, early yugioh introduced a lot of fricking OP braindead cards like delinquet duo and snatch steal, and you had a lot less cards to counter them back then. with hand traps and things like kaijus you can at least counter the bullshit op cards now
any GOAT format chads?
I like kashtira 🙂
>I can't adapt to the modern game, therefore it sucks!!!!!!!!!1!11
Sure are a lot of crabs in this bucket thread. Modern Yu-Gi-Oh is extremely fun. We just got one of the best can lists ever and the current meta is extremely interactive.
my only issue with modern yugioh is the solitaire gameplay and the fact that understanding a single deck requires dozens of hours of reading and practice, let alone learning the entire meta of decks. it's too big of a barrier for people that don't play consistently
Modern yugioh is fine but they killed their casual game. A combination of missed banlist windows, and letting decks naturally cycle out has lead to a backlog of powerful reprinted decks that are under $50 but play in that awkward "Too strong for casual, too weak for meta" grey zone. In fact, there aren't that many kids at my locals anymore since Evenly Matched went under $5. I am surprised they hit Baronne, though, as I was expecting them to just make another answer for it or let it slowly phase out like Dragoon did.
>It’s fine.
Why are YugigayS like this? Any card game that features OTK and FTK heavily is a complete farce. The fun of old Yugi-Oh was that combos were not that involved. They took multiple turns to set up, and would not always be reliable. This is why traps, old school tribute summoning, ritual summon, and fusion summon were all viable mechanics— even if they were not the best designed, per se. You had your choice of these imperfect mechanics, and the challenge of building a deck was to try and create the most reliable winner possible in spite of their individual weaknesses by combining them. This idea of balance was completely destroyed when things like synchro, link, tuner, XYZ, etc… were introduced. What separates YugiOh from MTG (another game with an absolutely shit standard meta) is that these mechanics are still legal in YGO, whereas they get phased out in blocks with MTG. You still get power creep, but you don’t get stuck with a bunch of vestigial mechanics that only occasionally become interesting outside of standard (aka nobody cares) play.
