Low DHT can cause CVD
DHT doesn't build muscle, it get's deactivated by 3α-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase enzyme located in muscle tissue. That enzyme likely exists in humans to prevent the development of overly large amounts of muscle due to the extremely potent anabolic steroid called DHT, and is probably absent or in much lower levels in animals such as gorillas who have much greater resting muscle mass.
However, DHT has an effect everywhere else in the body as it is the most powerful androgen in the body, 3 to 5 times more powerful than testosterone.
Lowering DHT will make the body more estrogenic, which is why some guys develop gyno after using finasteride for example, as DHT opposes the effects of estrogen. The body becomes more female like in it's hormonal milieu and ratios. You are shifted hormonally towards the female side in the male - female continuum.
Basically, if you take finasteride you become more feminine inside your body at the cellular level. Developing gyno is the first obvious external visual step in transitioning into a female. Free testosterone converts to estrogen via the aromatase enzyme. More free testosterone = more free estrogen.
DHT also reduces the effect of estrogen at the estrogen receptor.
When lowering DHT, estrogen becomes more powerful in the body without having to actually increase estrogen. It becomes more potent. Which is why some get actual physical manifestations of estrogenicity by developing gyno. But internally feminization is happening in every cell even though it might not manifest visually externally in all users.

Squats or deadlifts are neither a masculine or feminine activity, and they only increase testosterone transiently (like for less than an hour). And anyway, a man not on finasteride would also get a proportionate increase in DHT from squatting and deadlifting which would balance out the increased estrogen.

I've read some of the thread and I will give you my personal expirience with fin.
First of all im from Greece and fin is not so popular here, I have this chad friend who literally is model tier (green eyes, lean, perfect jawline) but... he is balding.
In lockdown i remember him crying everyday about his hairline and it literally crippled him. He stopped posting on social media, he was even scared to go outside. His parents are rich so they booked him the best hair transplant in Greece (he couldn't go Turkey)
Anyway, something horrible happened in the transplant and he started bleeding because of high blood pressure or something and it had to be canceled.
My friend had to get a buzz cut for the transplant and BOOM... from that moment he started coping that he liked him buzzcut because of his facial aesthetic it suited him, so he kinda coped that this was for the best.
A month later my friend comes and tells me that he started using fin (this was early 22). He was so scared to take it that he had the box since 21. Anyway he started taking half a pill or something every other day. His hairline vastly improve. He was like NW3 or 4 i don't know excactly.
Now one year later he started acting weird, he is talking on how he wants to find a gf who is bisexual or some shit and he is talking about degen stuff in general. He is also depressed most of days and can't find happiness anyway.
He would tell me that 2 years ago he felt breeze when he got out of the gym after a hard workout but now he says he lost purpose and doesn't have any direction. He also took 3 fizer shots so i don't know if its from that but i have vaxxed friends who are high energy. so i don't know
