If you start a blue collared business (house flipping, house repairs, landscaping, quarrying, etc) with your funds or farm rentoids from houses that you flip and maintain, you can surpass average tech wagies/medical doctors. If you just buy a truck and beers you will live in mediocrity forever.

45k at 19 is far above average.

Save hard until 30, don't worry too much about what a good investment is (decision paralysis), drop your money into either a term deposit, vanguard high risk, or just a savings account with at least 6% interest and bonus interest. Diddle with stocks and crypto if you do your due-dili, but not more than 5% of your savings, and don't let anyone tell you they cracked the code (they're moronic).

Try and find a girl (or boy whatever) that isn't moronic and that you can spend at least two whole days with.

And don't worry about "mediocrity"; if you're happy, then who gives a frick

In all seriousness, yes. One should strive to greatness, and staying an employee instead of trying one's own business is the opposite of that.

Just curious, what businesses do people like you expect people to just randomly start up? Lie in what industry?

not him, but a lot of white vans you see on the road are often individual contractors that can earn 6 figures depending on clients and work hours.
locksmiths, repairmen or all sorts, pool cleaners, even power washers who hire seasonal help do make a surprising amount of money.

I hope you dont have it saved in cash, inflation is making it worthless as time goes on. Buy dividend stocks, I recommend "dividend kings" which are stocks that have only increased their payouts for the past 50 years. They do rank them by levels of aristocracy, with dividend dukes and the like, but getting a whole bunch of different ones gets you a good payout every quarter.
