would it be moronic to keep dumbbells at my desk and like, do seated shoulder presses and other seated exercises every time im bored?

yeah because you need to hit failure. you will never reach proper failure doing a few here and there with an infinite amount of rest between your sets.
so there are 0 gains in doing 8-12 reps here and there?
i dont need to do infinite rest, i can do 2 minutes rest.
idk it just seemed a good way to add volume
>idk it just seemed a good way to add volume
why bother with this shit. doing 8-12 sets to total failure is more than enough for 4-5 days. it shouldnt take you that long. we are talking like 15 minutes here.
it's literally better than not doing anything instead
nah my neggro. I rather warm up, hit failure and then rest for a few days than having to do a few sloppy sets here and there while probably not even warmed up. you will either use baby weights so you dont pull a muscle or you might end up hurting yourself because you will end up doing your sets without a warmup. its just a matter of time.
You just need to warm up those joints with some arm circles and swings, im guessing his office is private, lifting in your cubicle is and doing overhead shit is double autism.
>infinite rest
I love that book
keyed
no, gotta let people know who's running shit. I usd to keep a resistance band at my desk. You can do all sorts of shit while sitting in a chair.
I've thought about doing something like this, but ultimately decided against it, because I think it would just make me feel more fatigued when I'm actually in the gym
Yes it works, if they're heavy enough. Watch out for injuries though; it would be shame to miss your real workouts because you snapped your shit while rushing through an extempore set without warming up first.
I do 10x sets of OHPs, goblet squats and rows every time I have to stop to think about a problem (WFH on computer). It really helps.
If you are untrained, it will get you beginner gains. But without progressive overload/a program, you will hit a wall pretty quick.
>would it be moronic
Yes
Should you do it anyway?
Yes
I don't see the point. You won't be warmed up so it will increase the chance of injury and that's about all it will do. It's just junk volume.
I only have 10kg dumbells. (20kg total)
What are some good workout routines with them.
Do I need heavier ones?
If you're a noob then you can use them until they start to feel easy (which probably won't take very long)
Just look up some full body dumbbell workout routines and pick one that looks good to you
Don't do it. You'll overtrain
you just reinvented greasing the groove
use a light weight and do it 5+ times a day, don't go near failure. good for strength, not for muscle building, probably idk im not a scientist
It would only be moronic if you sheepeshly do your reps. Go all the way and loudly grunt everytime. Maybe put some styro on the floor so you drop your dumbbells like a badass.
