Holy shit.
Been using Ketoconazole 2% shampoo off and on for five months now. Pretty bad scalp dermatitis. Up 18lbs, zero motivation, brain fog, zero morning wood, workouts are through willpower alone and I'm missing more and more of them.
Recent appointment with General Practitioner's Nurse. Let her know symptoms, she sends in orders for blood work.
Mean-time, I read that ketoconazole can absolutely crash Testosterone, and in some cases, do it permanently.
I'm off the shampoo for four days now, hoping I can recover.
Beware bros... or if you're looking to get on TRT, maybe this is the ticket.

If used orally and even then, the effect is transient. Why do you go on the internet just to lie? Are you Russian?
Sorry, pharmasalesman. Your israelitery won't work here.
Yeah he works for putin
>mah putin
Same thing happened to me. I was taking it for tinea versicolor and it absolutely crashed my T levels. So I quit and kept looking for other cures. I found fluconazole and it worked without the side effects. You'll have to buy it yourself from a Canadian or Indian pharmacy or convince your doctor I guess. I paid $80 for a dermatologist to give me a worse medicine than I found myself on the first page of google.

So you're going to take an anti fungal pill daily? I use Ketoconazole shampoo daily it stops all itchiness and makes my hair super thick saves my ass. But i hope its not fricking my T i make good gains but am tired a lot.
>but am tired a lot.
it's over
no, 300mg once a week
I use Nizoral for tinea and that shit wipes it out completely in literally 3 days and doesn't come back for a year.
>ketoshampoo
do ketolards really?
lel
>he fell for the keto con
Thanks anon. I was just about to take this unheard of chemical crap no one had ever heard of but you managed to convince me.
You'll hear about it when the norwood reaper gets to you, young gun.
Maybe try to not eat the shampoo next time. There is about 0% chance that any of these severe side effects come from having it in your hair for 5-10 minutes twice a week.
So what the frick is wrong with regular Head and Shoulders for you dandrufftards?
moron.
I was using that, tried nopoo for a few years, no improvements in scalp, actually kept getting chalazions (clogged pores in eye lids, very unaesthetic), so now I'm using a bottle of this to nuke my scalp and going back to h&s.
I just wanted to not put chemicals on my scalp, but I lost the generic lottery I guess.
Same shit here bros. I've had seborrheic dermatitis (self diagnosed, sometimes itchy, inflamed scalp, and heaps of flakes/dandruff) for 3 or 4 years now. For a couple of years I combined SelSun (selenium) shampoo with Nizoral and it worked to massively decrease scalp irritation and flaking, though it dries the frick out of my hair.
I did 2 months of NoPoo recently and my hair was a lot more luscious and well hydrated but my scalp was in hell, super flaky and loads of dandruff. I took another shampoo recently and it immediately got rid of 70-80% of the flakes and dandruff, albeit drying my hair out in the process.
What the frick is the solution here bros? Anyone have any advice?
I have seb derm on my cheeks and forehead and I can't tell if ketoconazole shampoo helps tbh. After I use it I'm still itchy and red then mostly fine the day after, but if I don't use it for a few days then I start to look like a ghoul from fallout
Over for skincels
I can tell you that selenium shampoo helps the most for that, I only use Ketoconazole shampoo cause I am paranoid that my hairline is fricked (used minox on it years ago when I was using it mainly to grow my beard and ever since it's been weird, dry and straw like). The selenium is what does most of the heavy lifting in terms of skin care
It helped my scalp immensely but actually worsened my dermatitis on my face. The only thing that helps there is oral antifungals or cortisone.
topical cortisones ofc
Bro's i've been using this for over 3 years everyday. It's called keto-z in europe. Can someone confirm from the ingredients if it's over for me? pic rel
That shampoo is called Keto-Z but doesn't seem to even contain any ketoconazole. That is also an old package, because zinc pyrithione is no longer allowed in the EU.
Based knower. That pic is from 2022. So should i just keep using it?
There is reason zinc pyrithione was forbidden in the EU
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc_pyrithione#Health_effects
It was replaced with this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piroctone_olamine
The current version of Keto-Z seems to use piroctone olamine, too.
strop drinking shampoo moron
Youre moronex. I use 1 percent nizoral and im fine.
First baldcels demonised fin, now they're going for ketoconazole. Be aware this is a pysop to ensure you go bald.
applied topically as shampoo, it's not even a prescription drug
Ketoconazole has been proven to prevent hair loss. 2% is prescription in the US, not in Poland where I stocked up a years supply last time I visited family
It helps with my sebbhorhic dermatitis but doesn't completely cure it. What else helps? Tgel kinda works, but I still have itchy flakey scalp 🙁
Only orally you idiot, which is a completley different use case and side effect profile common to a lot of anti-fungals when taken orally.
This stuff lowers mTOR in the scalp, which means the cells can regenerate faster. An excellent tool against hairloss
Idk been using this stuff forever to control my scalp issues and never noticed issues. Does what it's supposed to, and apparently helps you keep your hair.
> I read that ketoconazole can absolutely crash Testosterone
Got a link? or is this just the usual crab bucket demoralization thread?
It's just an idiot confusing systemic versus topical uses.
Ketoconazole basically causes scalp bacteria to explode by leaching iron.
By every metric we can see iron overload is bad.
Even if it did seep into the body, it's just be something like 1/150th of a blood donation.
T. using ketoconazole 1/wk for 3 years
You're supposed to use it once or twice a week at best. You sure you were not drinking it? It hardly goes systemic if you use it properly. It does nothing to testosterone itself, it binds to androgen receptors and if a ton of it would go systemic then your testosterone should be HIGH because of it not binding to anything and being left free. I think you're full of shit, or maybe not but search what your problem source is because your argument does not add up.
I have a dry scabby scalp and am going bald.
I want to shave all my hair off but I’m afraid my whole head will be flakey and scabbed.
I’m using head n shoulders now.
Do you think once my head is shaved the scabbiness will go away?
I’m really at a loss here.
