I have an extreme lack of motivation, focus, I guess it is ADHD but I don't really feel like getting a proper diagnosis
I keep failing uni grades because I just can't find motivation to study, I keep promising to start lifting to improve my health, but I still can't do it
I don't want to have to resort to hard drugs just yet
I have been recommended these three as stuff that might actually help my situation
>Fish Oil (higher DHA over EPA)
>Magnesium
>Vitamin D
Anyone in this board have any experience with these? Do you guys actually noticed "brain gains" from them? Anything else you would like to recommend?
It's because you're posting here and ruining your dopamine, giving yourself brainrot.
Stop using the internet as a form of escape and those problems will be solved. Use the internet to do work/school, all else... get outside.
Maybe its because working and studying is actually pointless as frick and modern life is fricked
not a solution
How do you know there is a solution
Definitely doesn't help but a lot of people are in the shit and need to get through the shit to get past it
Maybe because you're a weak frail homosexual addicted to porn and video games. You know it, but you won't accept since you want to stay being the little fat lazy slob you are.
Improve your diet - throw what you're eating into cronometer and see if you're deficient in macros/micros, then either add foods to rectify deficiencies. You're likely not so deficient that a supplement will suddenly "cure you", and most of your benefits will probably be from a placebo if you do choose to supplement. Better diet will make you feel better though.
Exercise more - you just have to go do it, motivation won't come, there's never going to be a "right time" to do it, and no one other than you can make you work out. Just go to the gym and do anything, it sounds like you have no real excuse not to so I'm not going to give an alternative.
Calm your brain - stop using anything where you doomscroll, you're just wasting your brain away on cheap dopamine hits. Calm it with porn, calm it with apps, calm it with IST/internet, just try and focus on something that isn't just mindlessly absorbing cheap content.
Your story is the most common one among students, and even if you've only got yourself to blame, you've also only got yourself to help. Focus on tangible improvements, keep a log of things you've done, incremental improvements yada yada.
Just study and work or you'll fail, it's tiring hearing this over and over.
yes
no
maybe
Those are all good.
Add B2 to help prevent going bald
You will feel no different taking this stuff, unless you are actually deficient
imagine thinking vitamins will prevent you from going bald
your brain is just fricked, that's all, learn to live with it and push through life
>Fish oil
Should be taking those anyway but theres no noticable effect
>Magnesium
Honestly potassium is better
>Vitamin D
Not for the brain but okay
If you want real impact on mental strength
>Creatine
10% buff to brain and body
>Choline (In αGPC form)
Actually proven in research to increase motivation.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8235064/
>Caffiene
Its a no brainer that this helps
>Folic acid
Lesser known but VERY effective for curing depression and improving mood.
Improved mood will make you more driven to consider your position in life and drive you to improve.
>Adderal
Hyperfocus drug
>Testosterone
In a small dose this will bolster your motivation a tonne
Either way University is easy as anything, you should spend 200 hours of outside study for each of your modules beyond the classes you attend in order to get a very decent grade.
Work on the reading list your professors provided you and youll go far.
Ideally read ahead in the textbook before attending the class and youll learn everything way more efficiently.
>Ideally read ahead in the textbook before attending the class and youll learn everything way more efficiently.
Can confirm. Since I'm in math I also do a bunch of problems from these books and that helps a lot too
I have no scientific article to link, but you can also try NAC. That's helpful for things like OCD, so there's some kind of mental component it improves. Can't hurt, as it helps a ton of other things too.
Pemolin
Bromantane
Tropisetron
Strattera
Cyclazodone
Caffeine
Etc.
But most importantly: block distractions like IST, youtube, etc. Otherwise you'll just get better at procrastinating
Maybe you're not meant to study or be fit.
Just lie on the couch and don't do anything unless you feel like it.
not far off from a top I've used.
don't want to do anything? fine, do nothing. get your studying stuff ready then sit and look at the wall. or out a window if you must
no not your phone
no not a TV or PC either
nothing with a screen.
just sit and listen to the noise around you
phone buzzed? to bad we aren't doing anything. don't check it.
now if you decide to do anything: study. but allow yourself to choose to do nothing
Can gaming affect my performance? I have league of legends installed on my pc and i think it's a distraction being there but at the same time I like it
I'm in my last year at uni and went from a C student to high B's low A's by going a 5km walk first thing and working out problems in my head while moving. Like a horse digesting, if I lie down for even a second, my productivity dies.
Had a similar thing for me. Problem is, walking has yielded zero body benefits. In fact, I’ve actually gained a lot of weight since I started my walking routine years ago. I go every day, 5+ mi, rain or shine.
Yeah, I don't count it as exercise. Just recreation. Sometimes I light a fire.
How slow are you walking? If you walk slow enough that you can be lost in thoughts, it's only slightly better than standing. Try walking in a fast pace uphill and you'll see benefits just fine.
>Be me in 2022
>Life is great with ex gf
>Lean
>29 years old
>peak everything work, life mogging everyone
>sex everyday
>nofap day 300
>april 22 comes
>gf leaves for phd in a small town
>we break up around oct 22

>turn 30
>break up with gf
>only two dates since oct 22
>got fluffier
>lifts down
>overworked (10h a day work)
>work every weekend
>dont even see my friends
>scrollin on 4chin all day
I tried everything and there is no way out. my parents are getting old and they are getting kicked out of the house soon and i have to help them . things are brutal and IST is my only solution. i tried finding god but it doesn't help either
Should i just get back with my ex? she has been trying to reach my but im avoiding really badly bad i can't take it anymore i love her a lot bros...
why not get back together with her? like what is the reason?
She was a horse
If she's reaching and you love her then what's the deal you dumb c**t
Just answer her message and go chat over coffee, you want me to hold your wiener while you piss, wipe your ass, and hold your hand crossing the street? She clearly wants you just go for it
Put some babies in her, women are supposed to raise kids not earn PhDs
LTO3
CARDIO multiple times a week. Rowing, swimming, running, walking, padel whatever
LSD
if you're failing uni classes you should absolutely get on ADHD meds
DO IT NOW (I am telling you to do it, you have no choice.)

Based
>I guess it is ADHD but I don't really feel like getting a proper diagnosis
its normal to be lazy if you dont live a healthy life. If you werent ADHD as a kid you arent now. youre just living in a constant state of malaise and constant distraction
Its not normal to be motivated all the time if you arent looking after your social life and basically every aspect of your life.
>fixes your lack of motivation in less than 10 seconds
heh, nothin personnel kid
This is true. I know its not good for me long term but my focus and mood has skyrocketed since I started zynning. Also don’t forget to take vitamin B1 with it to help with brain gains.
Also OP i take 400 mg magnesium, 3000 mg of vitamin D, and 250 mg of ashwagandha in the morning and 3000 mg glycine and 50 mg zinc before bed. I also do nofap(I was surprised with how much it helped me, I thought it was just a meme), and I also deleted all my socials and started socializing with people more in my uni. I don’t have ADHD but I d0 have aspergers and I had severe focus issues last semester and my GPA suffered from it. Of course supplements aren’t gonna fix everything so make sure to actually exercise. I run about 3 miles every morning and I get a gym workout in 1-3 days a week. Also a lot of people are sensitive to gluten in ways they don’t even realize. I cut out gluten and my brain fog disappeared within a week. OP I believe in you and I know you can get back on track with your studies. good luck man.
Also if anyone has any questions I’d love to answer them. I’ve made significant progress on my self-improvement after experimenting with lots of things and I want to help you guys become strong, healthy, and happy.
Man, just read one fricking book on habits. Atomic Habits, Tiny Habits, The Power of Habit, fricking whatever. They all say the exact same shit. Your brain is not fricked, it's normal, you legitimately just don't understand how to form a new habit on a basic level. Willpower is a short term solution and any time a habit fails it's 100% because you're trying too hard to rely on it. Just read a book on that once, take notes, and you're honestly set for life.
>Your brain is not fricked, it's normal, you legitimately just don't understand how to form a new habit on a basic level.
I'm an oldgay (mid 30s), it's insane to me how the younger generation thinks normal standard deviations are immediately turned into "not normal". Every generation describes the exact same feelings and problems and ascribes current technology as the problem. It's not; you are normal; being a "normal" person is hard for everyone.
The modern internet reinforces a lot of ideas around doom and gloom without any real substance behind it.
I've noticed that viewpoints based on real life experience has been radically replaced with viewpoints based on what people see on tiktok, forums, etc.
When people say "no bro women are x", or "the world is fricked because y", if you follow up, most younger people these days haven't actually personally experienced their viewpoint, they just saw it enough on the internet to assume the viewpoint is true/universal. Which is insane, as essentially your beliefs are being injected into your by your personalized algorithm and you "experience" the world completely different from someone else, just on the internet.
I'd love to do an experiment where half the doom-and-gloomers have their internet accessed removed and have to go out and live modern life in the real world.
this zoomers need screen breaks, that shit is giving them hypo frontal syndrome. victoria dunckley writes about this correctly
I second this. Read both, atomic and tiny habits, since they both tackle different angles. If you're unsure which, look then up on youtube, both as authors have like 30 minute videos where they talk about the principles.
Just take armodafinil and ritalin when you need to be productive and dick around the rest of the time. Accept yourself for the frick up you are and just get by. Nothing matters.
>Fish Oil (higher DHA over EPA)
An important issue with fish oil is that the normal recommended dose is too low for motivation. Normally it'll suggest 1 or 2 capsules (with 1000mg of fish oil each) a day, but people taking it for low motivation/depression/etc. need significantly higher doses, with 6000mg being a commonly mentioned figure. See for example this video:
He says that you need 1000mg to 2000mg of EPA, and most fish oil capsules contain 180mg, so you would need 6 to 12 of them to reach the effective dose. In the past I had tried taking fish oil, but 2 capsules a day had no apparent effect. When I started taking 6 the effect was pretty obvious within a couple of weeks. Later I lowered it to 4 caps, and it seems to be working just as well, but when I tried 3 caps it was just not good enough. So how much somebody needs may vary from person to person, but it's almost certainly higher than the 1-2 caps a day that is normally recommended.
As an aside, in the video I linked he says EPA is the anti-inflammatory and anti-depressant one, earlier in the video he mentions that DHA only supplementation doesn't help, but DHA, while not as important, is still helpful if it comes along with the EPA. All the different brands of fish oil I've tried had around 180mg of EPA and 120mg of DHA per 1000mg capsule.
People like you love tasks that give them dopamine and thus the illusory feeling of moving towards a goal while actually staying in place.
So here, watch this:
When you resolve to become a man of action, rather than words, you have two applicable paths:
1. (Easy) Based on the points in the video, create a rationalisation that allows you to use stimulants to achieve your goal
2. (Hard) Learn to focus your own mind by sitting and staring at a wall, alone, with your phone and computer out of easy reach.
Once you conquer the need to not be bored, you will direct your mind, rather than it directing you.
Am I okay taking 15,000 ui's of vitamin d everyday? I take k2 with it
yes
