Volume of the muscles for the upper body and 1RM or isometric torque measurements correlate quite strongly. For example, BP 1RM correlates strongly to both pec and triceps volume. Upper body muscles tend to not really differ in strength when it comes to muscle activation or motor learning. They will not get much stronger if they are not getting bigger. Bodybuilders and powerlifters tend to be quite close when it comes to upper body numbers. A powerlifter might do a little better. But not by much. Powerlifters with big BP often have well developed tris+bis anyways. If you are doing flatbench (no arches) you will get bigger pecs and triceps as you get stronger.

The lower body muscles are much more sensitive to motor learning. So you have to go heavy to maximize the results. Going heavy, say into 1-4 reps as is common with powerlifting, isn't that good for growing the muscles. But it is good for the motor learning that is required. So often you get powerlifters who don't have big legs compared to a bodybuilder who does high reps for legs yet can outdo them in 1RM by hundreds of pounds in spite of being small in comparison.

So let me get this straight
you have the lower body, and you have no upper body, you got a problem, you got a problem building ... wait a minute. You have the upper body, and you have no legs, you have the upper body you have no legs, you got a problem building your legs. You have an upper ... you have the you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, the upper body, it's easier to build. So if you have the lower body, and you don't have the upper body, it's easier to build the upper body. You have the upper body and you don't have the legs, you got a problem, building the lower body ... NO, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! You HAVE, the upper body, but you don't have the lower body, you got a problem building downstairs. You got the up-- the legs on the bottom, it's it's easier to build the top. Yeah.

strength 100% comes from your neuromuscular system, which is genetic. training in the gym just adapts your nervous system into doing those movements better. your muscles growing is just a side effect, and is unnecessary for strength. this is why a chimpanzee is way stronger than any roidcel who has way bigger muscles. chimps have way more nerve connections to their muscles compared to humans. it also explains why a roidcel can't really do anything else besides weightlifting.

A big Silverback is 500+ if a humamn was that big and strong I'm putting my money on the human. What animals have is fangs, I'd kick a big dog so fricking hard I'd break its face. You think ancient people hit wild animals with the first spear every time?

what the frick are you talking about?

not even close to 100%. and there's a maximum force with which a muscle fiber can contract no matter how much electricity you shoot it up with. a bigger muscle which contains more contractile muscle fibers is a stronger muscle. once the neuromuscular strength gains run out, the only way to get stronger is to increase the muscle size.
chimps are stronger than humans due to bone structure and because their muscle tendons insert further from their joints, which increases torque even though muscle force production isn't higher.

a human of that size would be way weaker than a silverback. a 70 kg chimp can easily tear up even the strongest 120+ kg humans.

        >a 70kg chimp can easily tear up even the strongest 120+ kg humans
Yet this has literally never happened. Much like pitbulls, chimp victims are notoriously women and children/elderly.

                >There just aren't many chimp attacks?
I know how this works dude, one grisly case like Travis the Chimp gets sensationalized and all of a sudden chimps are murderous beats who are 100x stronger than (You)

not 100x stronger, but definitely more dangerous pound-for-pound. people suck at fighting. even if a bigger human is "stronger" doesn't mean he'll win in a fight.

Can you just admit that you made a ridiculous claim? I really don't understand why people double down after getting proven wrong.
                >people suck at fighting
Okay? Doesn't mean a chimp is going to kill Stipe Miocic or Francis Ngannoun. Chimps don't know how to "fight" either, they literally try to maim their opponents instead of kill them.

you haven't proven anything and you're trying to make it look like what I said is ridiculous, when it could just be wrong but not that wrong.
claiming that you can go up against a chimp and not get severely injured is way more ridiculous.

                >claiming that you can go up against a chimp and not get severely injured is way more ridiculous.
I never said the hypothetical human would come out unscathed, I said they would win.

You are making a claim that a chimp would kill a 250+ lb man with elite physicals with no evidence. I don't need to prove anything when you never had a solid claim to begin with.

                Anonymous

I wouldn't call getting severely injured "winning".
anyway, you may be right that I maybe should've worded it less strongly. e.g. "a chimp can severely injure a human much bigger than it"

                Anonymous

I really just don't think there's any substantial evidence that a chimp poses a significant threat to a big and fit guy. I saw a skinny tweaker murder a pitbull on the side of the road a few years ago, I feel like that could be extrapolated to a huge IST guy killing a chimp without any serious injuries.

I've seen a good number of pitbull videos and I would not want to get in a fight with one, let alone a chimp.

You would have to be Hafthor's size to pose a threat to the average chimp. They are far stronger than people and have large teeth they use as weapons.

No you wouldn't, a fit adult man has never been 1v1'd by a chimp.
                >They are far stronger than people

Chimps actually aren't multiple times stronger than humans, that's a myth. They're stronger at pulling than the average adult male and they're stronger pound for pound, but a IST adult man is physically stronger than the average chimp.

Strength is neurological efficiency with muscle you have.

Big muscles have greater strength potential once the nervous system is conditioned.
