What martial arts (or atleast some aspects of it) can be practiced alone? I have 2 human-sized sandbags (1 free and 1 stationary for punches), 1 boxing bag, collection of gloves of different sizes, chains, pull-up bar, resistance bands, kettlebells, barbells, and all other kinds of equipment.
I want to be able to take out whole group of men, defeat armed opponent, be able both to kick and overpower others in wrestling.
>take out a whole group of men
Master your footwork and boxing movement. Slip and dance out of every punch, wear your opponents down, before you crack them with a nasty jab when they opportunity presents itself. You don't need much for striking beyond the basic 1-2, maybe learning to throw a sick uppercut to impress the bawds watching.
>t. won many barfights by myself
Sistema and Caipiriña
>Sistema
What is this?
Turns out it was Systema, just google it
moron shit. you need to spar or you'll never really know what you're doing
>Learning martial arts by yourself
No.
Garage karate always ends in disaster. Unless you have one other person there to fix your form and motivate you and actually sparring with you you're not getting anything good out of it.
>Unless you have one other person there to fix your form
Who corrected forms of those men who originally created martial arts? Think.
no singular man created "martial arts".
Maybe with more modern martial arts like Judo and certain styles of Karate or JKD or whatever it can be traced to one man who did create that style, but what they all have in common from Bruce Lee to Jigaro Kono is that they trained with other people.
They weren't looking at youtube videos in their parent's garage.
You will most likely learn more picking fights with random crackheads than training without a master
Join an mma gym and essentially live in it. Swallow whatever pride is giving you the delusion that you can train yourself to world class level, at a sport that requires excessive hands on coaching, by yourself in secret.
>Swallow whatever pride is giving you the delusion that you can train yourself
Imagine needing other men to be complete. You are the type of guy who hires trainer in the gym for bodybuilding.
>What's 1+1? And don't say 2, give me a real answer
This answer on 1+1 is more like 11 instead of 2, you know?
Don't waste your time. Go get a qualified teacher who is a reputable pro fighter or was formerly one, train with people who are like that and be ready to spend a lot of money and most of your time to get good at it. If you don't have the money and time you will go nowhere.
>If you don't have the money and time you will go nowhere.
What makes you think so?
The only thing you could realistically train alone would be body control, just rolling and tumbling to get a good feel for how your body moves. You could also do cardio with a focus on short, high intensity cardio.
>I want to be able to take out whole group of men, defeat armed opponent, be able both to kick and overpower others in wrestling.
This is moron shit. Active sparring against a resisting opponent is the only way to actually train any real martial art. Just shut up, put your money where your mouth is, and find an MMA gym where you get real instruction and real practice.
No.
>What martial arts (or atleast some aspects of it) can be practiced alone?
Nothing impactful besides getting in good shape and maybe some conceptual stuff.
Just go train at a real gym with good instructors. It's fun
you can do plenty, dunno why people parrot this "go to the gym" shit, in most cases it would be more productive to just spar with your friends
learn some boxing basics on youtube, do conditioning, work on heavy bags, learn some simple combinations, do shadowboxing with weights (homosexuals will seethe here), figure out how to punch faster and harder
you won't fight in the ring so you don't have to subdue yourself to some gay gym rules, all you want is to be able to punch hard, fast and without thinking
i've known a few lethal dudes who get themselves into fighting shape w/o stepping into any gym
>you can do plenty, dunno why people parrot this "go to the gym" shit, in most cases it would be more productive to just spar with your friends
Did you miss the part where OP says he believes training by himself, with no sparring, will allow him to take down whole groups of armed men? That's never going to happen.
autistic fighting-oriented trainings and a few street confrontations will give him more than months and approximatelly a thousand dollars spent in a shitty gym where coaches don't give a flying frick about what you do if you're not about to have a nice day
I know it might be hard to swallow, but this is the truth
>don't go to a shooting range, just get into gunfights with the police
you're telling what's probably a scrawny teenager to do shadow boxing for a couple weeks and go to bars looking for a fight or whatever
I hope you're just moronic and not acting in bad faith
>just shadowbox with weights it's totes the same as sparring a real person
>just get in random fights where people will stab you instead of punch
you really are just a well of moronic wisdom, huh?
I'm explicitly advising to fight random people, it's just that most MA gyms can be a waste of time and have a poor ROI, it's quite uncommon to find a good one, but it's surely common as frick to send people there
I'm just saying there are many ways to make yourself lethal w/o organized gyms, because real life fights and ring fights are not the same thing
So you're one of those idiots who calls himself an "undefeated STREET FIGHTER!!!!!!!!" then gets his ass kicked by pro fighters
fixing: I'm NOT advising to fight random people
>a few street confrontations will give him more
>I'm NOT advising to fight random people
Pray tell, how does one get "a few street confrontations" without going out and trying to fight random people?
>gyms are a meme, just join an underground fight club bro
fricking moron
stop being a fricking autist and go to a gym or dojo
>I want to be able to take out whole group of men, defeat armed opponent
lower your expectations way down kid, you're in for a life of disappointment
>I want to be able to take out whole group of men, defeat armed opponent
You are moronic and inexperienced 20-something year old high on action movies and cool yt fight videos
With the advice from the other moronic and inexperienced 20-something year olds high on action movies and cool yt fight videos from this thread any sane person can conclude that you are going to either get curbstomped, stabbed or shot when you try to apply your do-it-yourself mma skills in real life
>t. got stabbed twice in the stomach by a druggie because i thought 11-2 amateur boxing score meant i was an unstoppable force of nature
>t. got stabbed twice in the stomach by a druggie
I'm sorry for you anon, but you shouldn't project your weakness to everyone else.
>but you shouldn't project your weakness to everyone else.
I don't get what you're trying to say, but ok
I'm trying to say that you make false assumption that if your skill level in one particular sport has not been enough to take out malnourished druggie with a knife, no level of skill in any martial art will ever be enough for that purpose. That's incorrect.
I guess this is as good place to ask as any: I cannot attend my boxing gym anymore, so I was thinking about hanging up a heavy bag and so some drills every once in a while at home. We weren't doing any sparring at my gym, so aside from occasional form correction from the coach I don't see any problem with this. Or id this a bad idea?
see
this is how many gyms operate
it's basically glorified cardio and you might be better of just training by yourself
Just find a legit gym with sparring and active competitors... should not be hard if you're in a decent sized city.
