            you dont need to be in a continual surplus eternally because that means ever increasing surplus when weight loss staills, you need to have sufficiently high enough calories and maintain for long periods of time to make gains, which also means you will have to be fatter
            you cant maintain super low bodyfat and make consistent gains because the food intake is too low and also your body is just too lean to make gains

      Sort of, ESL. With weight classes often you want to be lean as possible because that means you can pack on as much muscle as you can while still being in your weight class. Heavy weight (like your picture) is different because the weight limit is 265lbs and most men in that weight class can't hit the weight limit anyway, so no reason to cut fat unless you're getting really tubby.
