If you eat meat instead of taking the lentilpill you’re just ignoring basic science. I’m not even a vegan but lentils are far superior to meat.
1.5 cups of Lentils contains 27g of protein. 3oz chicken breast contains 26g. Lentils contain about the same amount of protein as steak when comparing ounce to ounce, and are a superior protein source to meat.
>b-but vegans can’t get iron!
Lentils contain more iron than meat. Plus other vitamins and minerals that you can’t even get from eating meat, such as fiber, copper, phosphorus, and manganese
Literally why the fuck is anyone still eating meat? Take the lentil pill and get all the protein and nutrients you need without any of the cholesterol and toxins of meat
Lentilbros, we're eating good tonight
My favorite colors are black and orange. I make a big bowl of them for Halloween and put out some paper cups and spoons. It’s a much healthier alternative to candy and Halloween themed. I make sure nobody tampers with the bowl so it’s safe. But all the colors are delicious those are just my favorite because they remind me of Halloween
You're obviously vegan. Don't be a bitch and hide it, makes you look insecure.
Love lentils. Especially red lentils. I once dated this Indian girl who would make naan bread out of lentils and Hispanices and it was fucking amazing. Same with currys. Cheap as hell too, easy to get months worth for like 40 bucks.
This so much this. Not a vegan either but lentils are SO CHEAP. Meat is like 10 dollars a pound but lentils are like a dollar a pound it’s crazy
Also cool recipe idea I’m gonna try that, I’ve never made Indian styled lentil curry before let alone a wrap
> lentils are a great source of protein
except they don’t have enough methionine
That’s the only essential amino acid they lack and you can easily make up for it by eating oats, quinoa, nuts, etc
Lentils aren’t the only thing you should eat, but easily replace meat when added to your diet
>methionine
There's good reason for limiting that if you care about longevity. Or at least balancing your methionine consumption with glycine.
Or, you know, you could be a normal person and eat both lentils and meat
Hate to be that guy, but technically eating meat isn’t “normal”
Humans didn’t evolve to eat meat, no other primates do except for the shitty psycho ones
Meat causes shorter life spans and mental issues due to toxins found in flesh
All the “blue zones” around the world have extremely low meat diets
"blue zones" ?
Blue zones are population centers where the average lifespan is typically much higher, usually around the centenarian mark. Mental aptitude often is strong as well.
Sardinia, Italy
Okinawa, Japan
Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica
Icaria, Greece
Loma Linda, California, United States
>Sardinia and Icaria are low on meat
Easy guess, you are an American
In su cunnu a mamma rua, malaka
blue zone information is literally fake most of the time
The unifying dietary factor across blue zones is a plant heavy diet with lots of legumes (such as lentils)
No, you don't hate to be that guy, you clearly love it. Not evolved to eat meat. Lol ok.
>how much pseudoscience can a mentally defective veganfag fit into one post? Let's find out!
>i'm not a vegan
>proceeds to go on about how eating meat is psychopathic
hmmm
Eating meat is normal, retard.
Humans ate meat and thrived and devolved when they began to process grains, which eventually lead to where we are now, eating shit tons of garbage and thinking "wow, it's low fat, so it has to be healthy!"
There is zero evidence that not eating meat greatly increases lifespan. Considering the longest-living humans on record have not been vegan or vegetarian, you cannot validly claim that you'll "die earlier" by eating meat, it's a bullshit argument.
Muh blue zone argument is garbage as well.
>I'm not a vegan, I just make tons of posts telling people meat bad hurr durr but trust me, I'm just like you goys
So, you're a subverting garden gnome retard, got it, ace.
retards i was literally mocking OP
You didn't do it well, anon, but at least you tried.
I get awful gasses after eating lentils
Any tips lentil bros?
Drink matcha tea
>Lentils contain about the same amount of protein as steak when comparing ounce to ounce
Sure, if you compare dry uncooked lentils to uncooked steak. Comparing cooked products for both side's you'd get quite an unfavorable difference since the lentils soaks up a lot of water and the steak loses some.
>1.5 cups of Lentils contains 27g of protein. 3oz chicken breast contains 26g
So you're saying chicken breast has 3 times the protein per weight, good to know.
Lentils are not a bad protein source, but there's no need to mislead people about them. If you want to get, let's say 100 grams of protein, you'd end up eating around 400 grams of dry uncooked lentils a day. That's a big ass soup if you're making lentil soup or stew, which I'd say is the easiest way to eat a lot of lentils. I've tried it and it's not easy, it's fart city as well as simply an ungodly amount of food. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are really into braps and have a binge eating disorder since this would allow you to fulfill both.
>If you want to get, let's say 100 grams of protein
Unnecessary unless you weigh 100kg.
>The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends that the average individual should consume 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram or 0.35 grams per pound of body weight per day for general health. So a person that weighs 75 kg (165 pounds) should consume an average of 60 grams of protein per day.
Ma'am, this is a fitness forum consisting mostly of young men actively participating in body-building or other sports. It would be a little strange if we tried to eat only the universal recommendation for protein meant to serve anyone from female sedentary senior-citizens to children.
I think you're showing your ass a little and you're not really a ISTizen, but instead someone trying to subvert and influence our community.
It doesn't need to be a one or the other either tho lol. Maybe have a normal serving of lentils with a smaller portion of meat
my grocery store has red and green lentils
which one should i try?
dry or canned?
Dried and then you can cook them to your liking with whatever recipe you want. Plus you get more lentils for less dollars because the weight of dry is less than wet
Canned is good if your on the go though
red or green?
Doesn’t matter it’s better to mix and match anyways. Different flavors and levels of nutrients. Red is more “Indian” I think
k
ill buy a small bag next time i get groceries
Awesome, they are super cheap and delicious so make a great side dish or stew and are very versatile
lentilpill is literally a shitpill
AYNXAH
>1.5 cups of Lentils contains 27g of protein. 3oz chicken breast contains 26g. Lentils contain about the same amount of protein as steak when comparing ounce to ounce, and are a superior protein source to meat.
the amount of volume required is garbage
>lentils contain more iron than meat
yeah ferric iron which cannot be properly absorbed
>cholesterol
not a bad thing
>toxins
name one
Not something you can eat all the time unless you want to be farding and shidding everywhere
you grow a tolerance to it
No you don't. When I was vegan, I was shitting 4-5x/day from all the fiber. Why would I want to keep having to live my life making sure I was always close to a goddamned toilet?
>I may have no nutritional knowledge or science backing, but let me tell you why my veganfag food is so much better than your meat, goy. And DO NOT ask me about the comparison of calories to meat and how lentils will be 3x the amount to get the same protein, because that's not relevant to my faggy point!
Nope, and I even like lentils, but I'm going to NOT eat them now because I hate OP so fucking much, I'm just gonna double my meat intake so he'll cry about it.
I like to use lentils and beans to cheaply bulk up my protein in meat based stews. So instead of 800 g of meat in my thai curry stew, I would put 400 g of meat and 400 g of lentils so its a bit cheaper.
