You are really not getting the point. It's about being tough vs just looking tough. Being a moronic criminal willing to stab someone does not make you tough, being able to win fights makes you tough. Being strong does not make you tough, it just makes you look tough.
I doubt. Martial arts are a hilarious cope to me like yeah you spend all this time training but you’re only 5’5 150 pounds. I’d beat the brakes off of you and I’ve never thrown a punch just because I’m 6’3 215 pounds.
I'm 6'2" and 205lbs, lift and compete in Muay Thai, and my 160lbs buddy with a purple belt in BJJ can wreck my shit on the ground. Literally my only 2 shots with him if I had to seriously fight him would be to keep him standing and try to break his fricking ribs from range or something, or wear him down enough that way that when he finally takes me down he's too tired and I can take him out with ape strength alone.
There's a certain point where weight is too big of a factor (don't think my gym's 112lbs national women's champ can take me out), but fighting is definitely a lot more than just being big.
This is half true, I could drill wrestling with you for a couple months until your friends BJJ would basically put you two at a stalemate or where you'd at least never end up on the ground.
I weigh about 210 lbs and have a wrestling background. Doing jujitsu with lighter grapplers doesn't go well for them.
I live in a third world country where being attacked randomly is a daily possibility but you don't get attacked by a "boxer". You'd get attacked by a thug with a knife.
why are (mostly thirdies) so obsessed with combat? Why would I ever get into a fist fight? Even if some moron beat me up for no reason I'd just sue his life to shit.
Frustrating Gen-X and Boomer parenting has made many of us feel like we need some physical control over our lives.
Acknowledging that helps keep me out of shit, but I already have a cool hobby that I like so I'll keep doing it and competing. Agree with you that street fighting is not worth it.
Cope. I’m not in a third world country but all it takes is you’re out at a pub and someone decides they want to fight you, or they start behaving in a way where youll have to deal with them.
>healthmaxx all your life >DNA decides it's time to flip the switch and give you cancer with no hope of survival
Guess I'm gonna chug some motor oil now...
>lift for a year >today my machine is between two manlets, one doing barbell rows, one doing barbell squats >start doing my set >motivation almost immediately drops to zero
They looked so goofy, /fit:… And I am 5’8. Why didn’t I realize sooner? No one under 6’ should lift. You’ll just be made fun of.
>Lift your whole life >120lb dude runs faster than you
Whats the point?
I dont know why there is a group of fittards that are obsessed with fighting and think lifting is supposed to make you a fighter, screams insecurity with physical confrontation, if you lift its to get stronger and bigger, if you wanna fight go learn martial arts
It's the people that go learn martial arts and never actually get to use it in a fight that come here and shit post about how their fighting makes them so much better because they don't want to admit they wasted their time. If you do it for fun then good for you though.
>box your whole life
>a manlet with a knife will end your life in 5
What's the point?

there is no point to the moronic thread. I would definitely call someone willing to kill another person with a weapon tough.

WHY LIFT?!
I lift to gun better.

It's not fair bros
i don't live in a third world country like the usa or brazil where being attacked randomly is a daily possibility, so I don't care.

>Vs. actual combat conditioning
It is a mystery.
