4pl8 squat or 5pl8 deadlift, maybe. It really isn't necessary if you're natural, have good form and not top 1%.

My rule is anything that's going to put pressure on the spine, over 200lbs I'm wearing a belt. I'm 150lbs and suffered a snap city visit though. I can't really do squats and dead above 300lbs anymore. I don't think it was a good idea to put more than 2x bodyweight on my spinal discs t.b.h. You'll all frick your shit up and realize the same. Wear a fricking belt, maybe it won't be as bad. They help for OHP too if any of you pussies can actually do more than 1.5plate.

You don't OHP 1.5pl8. You don't even OHP 1pl8, pussy.

      This.

It always takes an injury to learn that there's 0 harm in using it even with light weights for protection. Same goes for wrist wraps.

I just wear a belt when im deadlifting above my bodyweight. Or if im nervous about a squat pr.
And anyone who laughs at me isn't gonna make it anyway.

If you walk around the gym wearing a belt you look like a tool.

The belt reduces carry over to real life because you don't wear it outside the gym.

Using a belt gave me a hernia while warming up with 120kg DL. I never use a belt after that. I squat 180kg and DL 200kg without.
