Vinegar doesn't go through the shell, you gaylord

      Anonymous

This works ok but I experimented and found the perfect upgrade - if you do add more, about 1 cup vinegar and then 1/2 cup bicarb soda once it starts boiling then it basically dissolves the shell toward the end so you just have to rinse it off.

the soda neutralizes the vinegar, moron.so instead of adding soda, just decrease the amount of vinegar.

If you start the egg in cold water, the whites will stick to the membrane as they cook. You need room temp eggs and then put them into water that's already boiling. This causes the whites to cook in a way that doesn't stick to the thin membrane between the egg and the shell.

My man. Let me tell you the secret to hard boiled eggs. After you boil them, replace the hot water with cold water from the tap. Don't bother with ice or anything else. You don't even need to let them cool all the way. Here's what you're going to do: Roll the egg at the bottom of the pot to create the crack and then peel the egg while it's still submerged in the water. The water will seep between the egg and the shell while you peel it and make the whole process ezpz.

obviously you should cool them under water so you can handle them but they should still be warm, crack the entire surface thoroughly until its like a mosaic, then just peel by pushing away with your thumbs
    moronicly simple

  45. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

I can't believe how complicated some of you make this, you simply run cold water over the eggs in the pot for a while and they will peel easily. Crack the egg and make sure you break the skin straight away where you've cracked it (if the skin doesn't come off at this point you haven't kept them in cold water for long enough) from there it's easy, the skin will come off with the shell if you do it carefully and don't try to take off a big bit of shell at once.

The water needs to be at a boil before you put the eggs in. And then they need to go straight from there into an ice water bath for five minutes after you have boiled them. Then tap the shell against the counter all around to crack it. Then peel it. Comes right off. Easy as frick. Have done that hundreds of times, never an issue.

I eat 6 eggs everyday, 36 eggs a week, over 2k eggs a year, here's how I hardboil and peel mine. I don't do any kind of ice bath or any of that.
    >Bring water to hard boil, add salt and 1 - 2 tablespoons vinegar, i use apple cider, white is fine, any kind would probably work
    >Put eggs in water only after its hard boiling, this is important so the membrane sticks to shell but not the white
    >Boil eggs for 12 minutes, maybe reduce temperature slightly if the pot is boiling over
    >When times up take eggs off stove and rinse them in the pot by filling it up and then emptying it out 2 - 3 times to stop cooking and rapidly cool the eggs
    >Very slowly fill the egg pot with water until it overflows and let that slowly run for a few minutes
    >The constant trickle and flow of water will constantly exchange the heat rapidly cooling the eggs
    >Let them sit for a while in the cold water if you don't want to run it but make sure to exchange it if it gets warmer
    >Dump the water out and feel the eggs, if they feel cold they're ready to eat or store in the fridge for 5 - 7 days assuming no cracks in the shells which there shouldn't be
    >When peeling crack the sides, bottom and top gently, then firmly but gently roll the egg while pressing down to crack it all over
    >The shell and membrane should then easily peel away from the egg

You can peel them easily without shocking them. You just kind of bounce them on a hard surface, not enough to crack but enough to separate the egg from the membrane and shell. Once you've done that, then you can crack the shell and peel.

i just bisect them in the middle with a knife and then scoop the contents out with a spoon (or eat, like how u normally eat fricking boiled eggs)

    like literally wtf

Roll them against a flat surface to crack the shell, and then put them back in the water.

reminder if the yolk isn't runny, you overcooked the egg and destroyed 90% of its nutrients
most people in the world are eating eggs that are almost empty out of nutrients, because they all overcook the yolk

you got a source on that, chief?

Lmao yes don't overcook your eggs but doing so won't cause 90% of the nutrients to magically teleport out.

Putting the egg into cold water after boiling it is a myth. If anything, it actually makes it worse.

What actually helps is not boiling the water with the eggs, but putting the eggs into boiling water.

Boil them until done. Immediately ice them down until they are cool. Put several eggs in a Tupperware container with a little bit of water. Put a lid on the container and shake the shit out of them. They peel themselves. I literally did this every as a prep cook making deviled eggs. I could peel 5 dozen eggs in 10mins. Or once they are cool you can just use your fingers like someone who isn't absolutely moronic

Drain the boiling hot water from the pot as soon as the eggs are done and pour cold water on the eggs till they're room temperature.
    Thank me later.

    It's super easy, bro
    >Don hazmat suit while boiling eggs
    >As soon as they are done boiling, immediately drain the pot and spray with Liqui Moly and pesticide mix
    >Wash under a boiling hot tap for 15 minutes
    >Store in a tupperware container for 4 days
    >You will now be able to peel them easily

After done boiling the eggs. Run cold water on them from the faucet for a while and then fill upp the pot with cold water and let them relax there for a while. Then peeling is very easy.

    You are welcome.

If you can, buy a cheap egg cooker to cook hardboiled eggs. If not, cook how you normally do, but have a large bowl of cold/chilled water water to put them once the time is up. Wait around 5 minutes or until cool enough to handle, then crack/peel under running water with a sieve below where you peel.

    Should be easy peasy.

    >cook egg
    >place in icewater 1 min

    >shells will fall off like nothing

Crack out of egg shell, put in hot pan with butter, cook, and don't worry about shell.

No, I am not going to read a thread full of people too moronic to know how2egg.
    >right after boiling, put them in cold water for a couple of minutes
    >change water if necessary if it heats up too much
Comes off perfectly after that, enjoy your eggs.

      Not all eggs.
This is a problem related to chicken hormones or bird flu, damaging the egg.

baked sweet potato with a little butter and salt. ignore the entire internet on how to cook them, just wash em, brush the skin with olive oil and wrap em in foil, then bake at 400f for 1hr30mins.

    peel small part on top
    peel small part on bottom
make sure to break the thin white skin
    hold in hand
    forcefully blow air into it

now it either pops out directly or the shell gets losened so much that its easy to peel.
