Literally impossible to peel. How am I supposed to eat 36 eggs a day when at least 50% of them comes away with the shell? What a useless meme food.

You have to be sub 80 IQ to be unable to peel eggs normally
>You have to be sub 80 IQ to be unable to peel eggs normally
Its not the persons fault its the quality of the eggs. Some eggs just do this and its annoying.
A bad chef blames the egg.
Boil them with 3 tablespoons vinegar in the water. Thank me later.
Correct a sweet, also can give them a quick dump into some ice water and it gets even easier.
Vinegar doesn't go through the shell, you gaylord
This works ok but I experimented and found the perfect upgrade - if you do add more, about 1 cup vinegar and then 1/2 cup bicarb soda once it starts boiling then it basically dissolves the shell toward the end so you just have to rinse it off.
the soda neutralizes the vinegar, moron.so instead of adding soda, just decrease the amount of vinegar.
The neutralization process neutralizes the shell too
Put 2 teaspoons of salt in the water. Thank me later
you must be 18 to post on IST/nel
the only hard part is getting under the membrane between the shell and its contents, once you've done that the whole thing comes off pretty easily
skill issue
See
use old eggs and cook them in an instant pot
they'll peel like nothing
>t. Egglet
Learn to peel.
you need to crack the frick out of it to loosen the membrane. Crack it on the surface and roll it around loosening it up and it will fall off on its own basically.
you need to add salt to the water and then just blow them out
Just eat the shell moron why are you wasting good nutrients anyway
Because that's the part that touched The equivalent of chicken pussy and assholle
Why don't you eat a dog's egg
Dogs don't lay eggs
Maybe yours don’t
Those are platypusi
Uhhh, try again sweaty
I would have preferred you posted an off topic subject than you complaining about not being able to peel a boiled egg.
This is the egg equivalent of the Söylent bottle.
This is a recent thing, since COVID. Never had problems peeling eggs before.
>This is a recent thing, since COVID
This happened before covid you fricking schizo, it just means your eggs are too fresh to be cooked like that.
>Covid causes eggs to peel weird
This board needs to be nuked
You need to be nuked, you fat a-rab
Post egg
If you start the egg in cold water, the whites will stick to the membrane as they cook. You need room temp eggs and then put them into water that's already boiling. This causes the whites to cook in a way that doesn't stick to the thin membrane between the egg and the shell.
You should probably have less than 4 eggs a day, just drink more milk for the nutrition.
have a nice day moron
Milk is bad for you
I rarely even make them lol, its far easier imo to just crack 6 in the pan with butter and eat em that way. Takes like 5 minutes too
Cut in half with knife, scoop with fork or spoon.
>wasting time peeling 36 eggs
This is the way.
Get a spoon, sprinkle some salt on the halves and munch away.
Black person I worked at a gas station, you can't even imagine how many thousand egg subs I had to prepare during my time there
Probably all hardboiled, softboiled is often annoying to peel.
Fair enough, I also don't make softboiled eggs myself because I prefer scrambled
I'm gonna share a cheat code for boiled eggs:
- crack the egg
- get under the shell with a teaspoon and proceed to undress the egg with it
You're welcome
>picrel
>undress the egg
Why would you say it like that? Go to church you coombrain.
You're this mad about someone using a word no one batted an eye about. You're a frickwit.
GO. TO. CHURCH
>immediately thinks impure thoughts when people are talking about mundane things
I think you're the one that needs to go to church, nobody else thought of anything lewd from that anons phrasing.
Go to church, or I will undress you like an egg
some of them are in fact welded on from the inside anon is right you aren't /hardboilmaxxing/
Don't boil your eggs, steam them with a steamer basket, they cook more consistently and they peel perfectly every time
>t. used to be a boilcel
Came here to post this. Also don't overcook them, 10 min is plenty and peel them when they're still warm don't stick them in the fridge and try to peel them later.
But then they spoil much faster when peeled
tutel
Puncture the fat end with a pin before cooking.
took me a while to fully develop the technique, but keep trying and you'll get there. it mostly comes down to touch, but generally this is how I go around it
>put egg in glass
>add cold water and twirl it
>do this twice or thrice
>crack eggshell
>remove some shell until I can pinch the membrane and peel it
>all this under a low intensity stream of cold water
>done
yes this is exactly what I do. Perfect everytime.
Add a couple tablespoons of vinegar, or two teaspoons of salt OR baking soda, to the water. Alternatively run the sink and peel the egg under the flowing water.
Find the "skin" and these peel easier than tangerines
get instant pot
steam your eggs instead of boiling them
shell slides off in one piece
/thread
7 min in boiling water, transfer to cold water. Peels easy, yolk is soft. Can't believe this is a thread
>solves your low IQ
Eat them raw
one person in the thread was not a moron
Instant Pot makes them super easy to peel in my experience.
>crack the shell
>put the slop inside a boiling thing with water
>it boil and become slike that without the shell
>do this with 36 eggs
>solid mass of eggs with one giant yolk
I just boil these homies till they crack at which point the shell peels off easily
Green yolk Chads rise up.
I would not could not on a boat
put them in cold water right after boiling
Microwave the egg. The membrane dont stick this way, no water needed and take 3 minutes at low potency.
yeah, why waste so much time with water. Just put all 36 eggs and microwave them a few minutes
Make sure to add salt or your egg will explode.
Trick is to pour litlle of oil or vinegar
Eat the shell you pussy
This. Heard Jon Andersen talk about it, never looked back. And great since the shell is calcium and you can use that to replace milk if you're lactose intolerant.
My man. Let me tell you the secret to hard boiled eggs. After you boil them, replace the hot water with cold water from the tap. Don't bother with ice or anything else. You don't even need to let them cool all the way. Here's what you're going to do: Roll the egg at the bottom of the pot to create the crack and then peel the egg while it's still submerged in the water. The water will seep between the egg and the shell while you peel it and make the whole process ezpz.
Cook them properly. Add baking soda to the boiling water.
boiling them is a waste in every way. just scramble them
>SAY NO TO POCKET EGGS
endless peeling builds grip strength. you are never gonna pull enough to get huge any other way.
I boil my eggs the exact same way, but it is never consistent. Sometimes they peel with zero effort, sometimes they look like OP's pic. Heck, even the same batch will have random ones that are easier/harder than normal. What's the trick if I boil 12 at a time?
just eat the shell fragments that dont come off immediately, pussy. i guarantee you arent getting enough collagen and calcium anyway.
just buy that thing that goes into the microwave, it's done in 20 seconds and no peeling
well for one you have to boil them right
also
>smack a small hole in both the top and bottom of the egg, half the size of a dime
>blow as hard as frick into the top hole
a complete egg pops out the ass end every time, zero shell left.
the only time ive ever had a problem peeling eggs was when i let them cool down fully to room temp before peeling
obviously you should cool them under water so you can handle them but they should still be warm, crack the entire surface thoroughly until its like a mosaic, then just peel by pushing away with your thumbs
moronicly simple
I can't believe how complicated some of you make this, you simply run cold water over the eggs in the pot for a while and they will peel easily. Crack the egg and make sure you break the skin straight away where you've cracked it (if the skin doesn't come off at this point you haven't kept them in cold water for long enough) from there it's easy, the skin will come off with the shell if you do it carefully and don't try to take off a big bit of shell at once.
1. use eggs that have been in the fridge for at least a week - older eggs are easier to pee;
2. after boiling, soak them in ice water for at least 5 min. before peeloing
I just put them in my water bottle with some cold water and ice cubes and shake it a little, then it comes off very easily
Salt the water my fella
I seriously hope you guys boil eggs to have a soft almost gooey yoke even after they have cooled down and been peeled. Hard yokes are low tier
Ehhh. I like chalky yolk tbh.
This is coming from someone who drinks raw eggs regularly.
I’ve never had trouble with this method.
>boil water FIRST
>put eggs in (do not turn down heat)
>remove after whatever time to get the consistency you want
>ice bath
No gray, no salt, no confusion.
Buy better eggs poorgay
skill issue
use a spoon and boil them 4:30 minutes so they peel nicely and the yolk is somewhat runny
The water needs to be at a boil before you put the eggs in. And then they need to go straight from there into an ice water bath for five minutes after you have boiled them. Then tap the shell against the counter all around to crack it. Then peel it. Comes right off. Easy as frick. Have done that hundreds of times, never an issue.
What works for me:
put the eggs in only when the water is boiling, add salt.
Let them boil.
Take them out into a recipient with water and ice and leave them be for 5-0 minutes.
Roll the eggs on a cloth with my hands .
Done and perfect.
>put the eggs in only when the water is boiling
Hey, PUTZ
PUTZ!
Dropping the egg into the pan with boiling water will BREAK IT you doofus.
Go back to /LULZ/
Skill issue.
I boil 6 eggs, then mash them up with mayo, black pepper and chilli sauce, then spoon the mix into burritos with grated gruyere.
use older eggs
instapot
cold water dip after cooked
give em a real good smack
spoon trick
a combination of something like this
fricking fry them you morons
You homosexuals aren't cooking long enough. Trust me, I'm an eggspert. You cook just enough for the egg yellow to be runny, but long enough to make the shell easy to peel.
I can reach this state by pure feel now.
Shock them in cold water before peeling.
hardboiled eggs just dont do it for me anymore. I either fry em or scramble them these days.
also pic related is pretty nice to have if you have a busy schedule and have no time to cook. perfect hardboiled eggs that are easy to peel, every time.
Thinking about buying one of those now. Do they actually work?
they come with a little pin that you use to poke a hole, that helps to peel them.....but yes these are very convenient and cheap if you cant boil water
t. truck driver
curious what loads you pull? Also are you an owner-operator and what are you driving?
doing hazmat tanker....not an owner operator, the economy is shit right now, making more money being company for now....driving a 2022 volvo vnl mid roof
>How am I supposed to eat 36 eggs a day when at least 50% of them comes away with the shell?
put your mouth in the chicken ass.
eat the whole egg them.
are you telling OP to suck eggs directly from the chicken's anus?
Coaca.
It's the quality of eggs these days, farmers must be putting something in chickenfeed, this has only been an issue in the past 3 years.
Sign of avian flu, you should throw those eggs away.
Chickens can get Covid-19 too and pass it on through their eggs.
That egg reminds me of someone...hmm, wonder who it is...
Oh yes, that's right - EVERYONE on IST !!
When it comes time to peel them you want to smash the fat end of the egg onto the counter hard. Smashing the fat end with the air bubble in it makes the shell membranes detach from the egg white better and the shell slips off easily.
boiled eggs are gross
is there an egg peeler device for giga morons like me?
Imagine the amount of time spend separating all those yolks
I eat 6 eggs everyday, 36 eggs a week, over 2k eggs a year, here's how I hardboil and peel mine. I don't do any kind of ice bath or any of that.
>Bring water to hard boil, add salt and 1 - 2 tablespoons vinegar, i use apple cider, white is fine, any kind would probably work
>Put eggs in water only after its hard boiling, this is important so the membrane sticks to shell but not the white
>Boil eggs for 12 minutes, maybe reduce temperature slightly if the pot is boiling over
>When times up take eggs off stove and rinse them in the pot by filling it up and then emptying it out 2 - 3 times to stop cooking and rapidly cool the eggs
>Very slowly fill the egg pot with water until it overflows and let that slowly run for a few minutes
>The constant trickle and flow of water will constantly exchange the heat rapidly cooling the eggs
>Let them sit for a while in the cold water if you don't want to run it but make sure to exchange it if it gets warmer
>Dump the water out and feel the eggs, if they feel cold they're ready to eat or store in the fridge for 5 - 7 days assuming no cracks in the shells which there shouldn't be
>When peeling crack the sides, bottom and top gently, then firmly but gently roll the egg while pressing down to crack it all over
>The shell and membrane should then easily peel away from the egg
Vid related.
?t=140
>hard boiling them
>not scrambling them in a boll with olive oil and quinoa then microwaving
I steam my eggs instead of hard boiling, it takes a bit longer but it peels as easy as a mandarin
I am with you. I fricking hate peeling eggs and everyone's shitty suggestions never work. Scrambled works, just scramble a bunch and use them like rice, putting whatever you want on them.
I had this problem with a pot on the stove, but now I make hard boiled eggs in my instant pot and have never looked back.
Pour 1 cup of water into the instapot, put eggs inside on a trivet. High pressure for 2 minutes. Natural release for 6 to 12 minutes. Open and cool the eggs. Peeling them is so much easier and satisfying. They peel perfectly smooth.
>get pot, eggs, water
>put eggs, water into pot
>turn stove on high
>wait 12 minutes for softboiled
>15 for hardboiled
>either way when time's up dump the hot water
>add cold water into the pot (ice water works best)
>wait 1-2 minutes
>2 at a time, hit eggs against each other
>peel weaker egg and plate it
>repeat egg battle, losers get the plate
>for its prize, last egg standing gets punched
>consume unborn chickens
>ascend
Let them sit in cold water afterwards.
This but the water has to be ICE cold
>Literally have the bowl of water FULL of ice and in the freezer
>It needs to be as cold as possible
>CRACK AND PEEL FROM THE BOTTOM
>Insert a spoon
Cool them down in ice water directly from the stove.
very simple
boil for 7-10 minutes
then immediately pour out hot water and rinse unpeeled eggs under cold water for 30 seconds or so
peels clean off every time
i also put salt and vinegar in the water but not sure that does anything tbh
You can peel them easily without shocking them. You just kind of bounce them on a hard surface, not enough to crack but enough to separate the egg from the membrane and shell. Once you've done that, then you can crack the shell and peel.
I use older eggs and overcook them for 10 minutes. I still sometimes get an egg like OP's picture, but it solves the problem for the most part.
make sure the water is boiling BEFORE adding the eggs, also a tablespoon or two of baking soda (Careful as this will make a momentary surge of bubbles so don't overfill pot) will help break down the shell.
i have an egg steamer and it comes with an egg piercer you use before cooking
never had a problem peeling since
>another "IST fails at the absolute fundamentals of cooking" thread
Love this episode
This thread is a joy to read, and contribute to, tbh
after you boil them, throw them in cold water.
trick learnt from my mom and it does not fail
literal subhumans amongst us
I cannot believe the state of this board
It means you get very fresh eggs. Older eggs are easier to peel.
My gf peels them for me
carve it with spoon
you can't be serious man. jesus christ.
Average /fit IQ
literally wtf is this thread and replies. even when it goes well, who the hell has time and what's the point of peeling them?
i just bisect them in the middle with a knife and then scoop the contents out with a spoon (or eat, like how u normally eat fricking boiled eggs)
like literally wtf
Roll them against a flat surface to crack the shell, and then put them back in the water.
reminder if the yolk isn't runny, you overcooked the egg and destroyed 90% of its nutrients
most people in the world are eating eggs that are almost empty out of nutrients, because they all overcook the yolk
you got a source on that, chief?
Lmao yes don't overcook your eggs but doing so won't cause 90% of the nutrients to magically teleport out.
Putting the egg into cold water after boiling it is a myth. If anything, it actually makes it worse.
What actually helps is not boiling the water with the eggs, but putting the eggs into boiling water.
Scrambled eggs, simple as.
ok so here's what I do.
- boil the water
- make a hole where the air thing is
- put them in
- wait 7 minutes
- pour out water
- do the salsa
- pour in cold water 2 times
works everi tyme
I always tell my GF to peel it for me
Boil them until done. Immediately ice them down until they are cool. Put several eggs in a Tupperware container with a little bit of water. Put a lid on the container and shake the shit out of them. They peel themselves. I literally did this every as a prep cook making deviled eggs. I could peel 5 dozen eggs in 10mins. Or once they are cool you can just use your fingers like someone who isn't absolutely moronic
cold eggs, boiling water, ice bath afterward.
If you can get a grip on the membrane beneath the shell it's a wrap.
Drain the boiling hot water from the pot as soon as the eggs are done and pour cold water on the eggs till they're room temperature.
Thank me later.
It's super easy, bro
>Don hazmat suit while boiling eggs
>As soon as they are done boiling, immediately drain the pot and spray with Liqui Moly and pesticide mix
>Wash under a boiling hot tap for 15 minutes
>Store in a tupperware container for 4 days
>You will now be able to peel them easily
After done boiling the eggs. Run cold water on them from the faucet for a while and then fill upp the pot with cold water and let them relax there for a while. Then peeling is very easy.
You are welcome.
Roll it on the table with a little pressure
Just boiled three eggs now and about to peel, wish me luck
Just blow into it and it will pop out of the shell.
Pressure cook those little Black folk
If you can, buy a cheap egg cooker to cook hardboiled eggs. If not, cook how you normally do, but have a large bowl of cold/chilled water water to put them once the time is up. Wait around 5 minutes or until cool enough to handle, then crack/peel under running water with a sieve below where you peel.
Should be easy peasy.
>cook egg
>place in icewater 1 min
>fill tupperware container halfway with ice and water
>add 3 cool eggs
>shake 1 min
>open container
>shells will fall off like nothing
Crack out of egg shell, put in hot pan with butter, cook, and don't worry about shell.
No, I am not going to read a thread full of people too moronic to know how2egg.
>right after boiling, put them in cold water for a couple of minutes
>change water if necessary if it heats up too much
Comes off perfectly after that, enjoy your eggs.
Not all eggs.
This is a problem related to chicken hormones or bird flu, damaging the egg.
>300 post megathread on the metaphysics of peeling boiled eggs

might as well just sticky this shit, mods
Can anyone help me? I LOVE fried egg sandwiches, with a dob of butter, cheddar and hot sauce, but I don't know what to have with them as a side. Curly fries? Bacon strips? Pringles? Salad and coleslaw? Give me advice
baked sweet potato with a little butter and salt. ignore the entire internet on how to cook them, just wash em, brush the skin with olive oil and wrap em in foil, then bake at 400f for 1hr30mins.
Its because greedy farmers inject the eggs with water so they weigh more at market.
Raw
use a teaspoon Black person
or make scrambled/omelet/pancake anyway, faster AND taste better
hard boiled are a complete meme
crack the top
crack the bottom
peel line down from top to bottom
rest of egg folds off like a jacket
egg
peel small part on top
peel small part on bottom
make sure to break the thin white skin
hold in hand
forcefully blow air into it
now it either pops out directly or the shell gets losened so much that its easy to peel.
