      I just got out of a pretty aggressive cut and dropped from 175 lbs to 155. I guess I'm just surprised by how much strength I lost I guess. Plus it didn't help I trained cardio so sporadically.

    If it’s one of the agencies I’m thinking of, they give you a pretty decent workout program when you apply, just follow that. You’re also gonna need way more than a month to get 300m and 1.5 mile run times down. Make sure your form is PERFECT on pushups and sits up too, they’ll fail you for so much as moving your hands around or not locking out your elbows.

    A lot. Endurance gains comes really fast so you will build that up fast. You already have strength and muscle mass so this will be an absolute breeze.

    No. For cardio beginners LISS is the best way to start for a month or two then add in some medium and high intensity but bulk of training will still be LISS.

Good luck, arrest some Black folk for me when you make it anon.

      If you desperately want to go military get your degree first and commission

That's also why prospects of dealing with the public don't bother me. If I don't like it I can just quit. (also the only LE positions that have to deal with the public routinely are patrol officers - which I'm not pursuing).

        No you don't need rest days for cardio. Unless you have a bum knee or something I guess, I wouldn't be able to tell you. If you are completely free of nagging injuries you will be fine. Just alternate between rowing and air bike. Also you want to get your breathing under control you should be able to have an understandable conversation while running at the proper pace. The full body cardio stuff will help you get there faster.

    Not that I have any interest being a zog pawn but I was watching some documentary about Brigade d'Intervention, a Parisian unit akin to SWAT and I was surprised by the selection program. They do a shitton of running, fartlek like runs where they change pace many times which fricks you up compared to going at a high but steady pace.
    Plenty of meme shit that are not that useful these days, rope access drills for example, but then they have also hand to hand combat where instructors hit fricking hard. Pull ups, dips, rope climbing too are integral part of the selection course. As is swimming.
    Sprinting around with a 20kg plates on the vest and carrying a 15kg door buster seems like a good way to destroy their recruit's knees though.

    Anyway it's a tangent post but I just finished watching it and felt like doing a blogpost on a somewhat related threads.

    Slow reps make slow muscles.
    I can 100% say that heavy leg workouts have taken my skating and mma endurance to new levels.
    I can like do 5 minute serious sprint and not even breathe heavily. All thanks to leg workouts.

    Hiit is bullshit.
    The point is to do reps and as you get more tired add weight and add speed.
    There is little use in having 1 minute or 5 minute pauses between sets. It doesnt make a lot of difference, personally i just do next set whenever i feel i am ok.
    For sort of intense approach, look up Yom Platz leg workout demonstration
