Because you have almost no fat to give you blithering moron. 130 at 5'11" is thin. If you dropped 20lb you'd be approaching holocausto levels. Get your body dysmorphia in check god damn

I have tons of fat on my arms, legs and belly
      I can literally grab it.

Where you resistance training and eating at a small deficit (250-500 calories)?

      >Where you resistance training and eating at a small deficit (250-500 calories)?
Only lifting and walking, way bigger deficit, over 1000 calories

You don't have enough bodyweight to justify a cut that hard. You really shouldn't be cutting at all at your height and weight.

It's probably skin and not fat and you went too hard on the deficit otherwise you would have kept more of your muscle.

Probably some hormonal stuff involved making the body utilize fat and muscles differently. I assume.

Fasting obviously includes a caloric deficit, but the way the body handles things compared to eating at a deficit is entirely different, and superior.

          > but the way the body handles things compared to eating at a deficit is entirely different, and superior.
          No it isn’t

            Anonymous

It is. If you keep eating all day long, but at a deficit, insulin prevents your body from using fat, but since you're at a deficit, it still has to get the energy from somewhere, which means muscle loss and lower metabolism.

                That's not even remotely true.

It's entirely true. It's the reason why fatties who get told to eat nothing but small meals all over the day and exercise become exhausted, and eventually end up stagnating in their weight loss long before they reach their goal weight.

CICO alone is a shit weight loss method. If you’re sedentary and eat low quality food, you are not going to look good at the end of your cut.

If you eat at a deficit, your body only produces a small amount of insulin, and, once it's consumed, your body will move on to consuming your fat cells. If you're not burning fat it's because you're not in a deficit. Insulin isn't some magic, binary substance that's "on" or "off"; your body secretes a dynamic amount based on your blood sugar, and your blood sugar is a function of how much you eat.

                Anonymous

Macros and exercise matter. If you sit on the couch and eat twinkies all day but stay in a deficit I guarantee you you lose a ton of muscle at the end of that. And yes you’ll lose fat too, but you’re overall body fat % won’t change that much. Paradoxically, you can lose 20 lbs and still look as fat as ever.

Deficit is part of the puzzle but not the entire solution.

fastings largest benefit has always been greatly increasing insulin sensitivity.
nothing compares other than extreme HIIT cardio, which is unrealistic to do enough.

that doesn't relate to what i was talking about, anon is saying fasting is equivalent to cico, but cico doesn't put you into ketosis. i'm pretty sure fasting does. that's going to make a difference on how much fat mass versus lean mass you lose

CICO isn't a diet, but more like a rule. You can do both Keto and CICO at the same time.

                fasting is equal to CICO.
                >cico doesn't put you into ketosis
you're just talking nonsense, you do realize that when you eat carbs and afterwords do cardio. your sugar can still be net 0 right?
I hope you can realize this, because if you can't. you're a fricking moron.

I will feed you a doughnut tomorrow morning and have you run 8 miles and you try coming at me with that ketosis takes x amount of days grandma bullshit kid.

Post your body for real advice. You probably started with very little muscle mass and cut too fast.

Gain weight slowly and lift like your life depends on it. Muscle mass and fat are two key components of body recomposition and you can’t neglect one and expect good results.

I am a recovering fatty too and I aim for 100~150 grams every day. I also lift 3x a week. Your body will NEED protein to repair the muscles you are damaging when lifting heavy stuff.

Muscle synthesis caps out around 1.6-1.8g/kg lean body mass. The RDA is meant for average people eating at maintenance, not trying to grow or lose weight, to barely get by. It's a minimal amount to avoid deficiency issues in an otherwise sufficient diet.
