Don't listen to them. You're still kind of pudgy and you cant see any obliques on you. You'll need to cut to shredded to lose those love handles, but it is possible

Oblique muscles look different on men vs women due to skeletal differences and hormones. In men, the obliques will stack/'spill" over when viewed from the front. Thats perfectly normal and how your body will look if you have muscular obliques and low body fat. If youre concerned its fat, just try to pinch it. Fat and muscle feel very differently, its easy to differentiate
Personally I dont see a problem, maybe you have a bit of fat but that's perfectly okay. Being super lean isnt healthy or sustainable long term

This isn't true — everyone has the capacity to develop the Adonis belt. Genes do play a factor in your overall physique to a certain degree. Genes can influence the size, shape, and symmetry of the abdominal region. However, everyone can work the muscles around it to make it more visible.

It's not that he has something others don't have, rather the opposite. His obliques are underdeveloped. Normally, they would fill out some of that gap and make his torso look more straight up until his lower lats insert.
If you're objectively and I mean 100% provable to be sub 14% body fat by water displacement test (Hydrostatic) and you still have love handles. It's the only time it's genetic.
