          He's right though. Naturally most fruits are fairly small, not as sweet and have a much higher seed to flesh ratio. First 'domesticated' plant was likely the fig. Some 2000 years after the ice age ended. So very recently in the whole of our evolution and they're not as sweet or fleshy as other fruits. I think there's good and bad fruits and most of your fruit basket ones apples, oranges, bananas are pretty much trash. Berries, sand, plums, pears, figs, dates, kiwis are better for what we need from diet
