Point is the stress you get from restricting yourself and developing orthorexia is way worse that having some sugar here and there. Obviously getting more than 40% of your calories from carbs is bad, but this dumb black and white thinking is just pointless. If you get most of your calories from animal products, you can have your carbs no problem. And lol at thinking orange juice is poisonous, if your body has a problem processing that…

Carbs are what power your body. Even on a no-carb diet, your body just breaks down fats and proteins into carbs. There is no reason to avoid carbs, just eat them in moderation.

False. There are numerous examples, however modern man is forced into eating carbohydrates at every turn, so naturally there are very few who can even avoid this devil. You can also say that 99.9999% of people who die before the age of 120 (the measurable limit to human lifespan according to telomere length on a standard american diet) have eaten carbohydrates.

Jordan Peterson says his diet cured nearly all of his ailments and he never feels sluggish. He thinks it's due to carbs doing what said. He also interviewed a food doctor recently who basically said that the food pyramid was designed to allow for affordable diets for families and for companies to maximise profits. Going back decades. I genuinely don't know what to believe. Who is psyoping who at this stage? How do I know if the replies to this are a psyop? What if it's the toothpaste that keeps dentists in business? Who can we trust? What are the answers? How will we find them if the information is obfuscated and polluted everywhere you go?

For those that have autoimmune issues (like me), carbs is really harmful. It's widely known in autoimmune disease circles that it's terrible for you because of the inflammatory qualities.

Calling it literal poison is juvenile hyperbole and op is a gay for it because it makes the low-carb and keto movements look moronic, BUT i will agree that the overwhelming overrepresentation of carbs in the modern first world diet is likely a huge factor in all of the cancers, autoimmune, and and chronic diseases we see in the modern world. Carbs should make up a small fraction of a human diet, and they should be complex unprocessed carbs. But for most people simple carbs and sugars are the vast majority of their daily caloric intake.

                Anonymous

They are poison. They offer no benefits while only having the capability to do harm. The only instance when eating carbs is a benefit to your health is if you are starving and cannot get anything else.

                Anonymous

While the carbs themselves may be net harmful, there are many complex carbs that do have a myriad of associated beneficial micronutrients. This dietary trend of calling entire food groups or macronutrient groups "poison" needs to die. A true poison can cause acute physiological harm in an organism, which carbs simply don't do. They cause chronic illness over long periods of time at worst. People who call common whole foods "poison" sound like overreactive children. What other poison do you know of that the average person can solely live on for an entire lifespan? lmao.

Grains are poison. I think raw fruits, honey, dairy, are ok.

      Anonymous

fruits and honey are just as bad if not worse due to the fructose LOL. Fructose stays in the blood for 6 times as long as glucose and creates far more advanced glycation end products, and causes fatty liver. If you MUST eat carbs, sure, lactose in raw dairy is the best one, but it is still harmful if you are an adult. It's meant for quickly growing young animals

    Alzheimers
I don't know if it causes it (although it's been named "type 3 diabetes" by some). What is certifiably true, though, is that people with Alzheimer's can't use glucose efficiently as a substrate for their brain, so being in ketosis is good for them, as it can fuel roughly 75% of its capabilities through ketones. That's why people suffering from it see their symptoms extremely improved while on a keto diet.

You literally have never experienced real starvation, I don't think anyone on this board has. What you're experiencing is carb withdrawal. You get the same feeling if you've been eating at the same time for years then try to change the time you eat at. Just eat until you're full and don't want anything.
