when I first did them way back in high school the coach just called them full range lateral raises

dyels do this thinking they are gonna get oly lifter specimen delts but its actually a mostly rhomboids/traps/mobility exercise
this exercises definitely blows up your shoulders while also hitting the traps nicely. been doing them for a solid year now and my delts are definitely much bigger. I can do them with 25-30lbs now

normal lat raises are boring
these but dumbbells. bugman most likely does it with plates only cus no dumbbells in weightlifting gyms or competitions
final position looks kinda painful, especially if done with dumbbells.
The only guy I've ever seen doing this is a crosshitter who builds a little fort with like 8 dumbbells and a bunch of plates around a bench that he occupies for a fricking hour

I was able to do clean and pressing with 160lbs but had a weird shoulder thing where it felt weak. I started doing these but with 10lbs dumbbells and within a month I have no problem with my shoulder anymore.
