They're pretty based tbqh if you don't be a moron about it
also you don't even need protein powder on a decent bulk

Mass gainers are moronic. Just dilute your protein powder in oats and now you suddenly have a much cheaper version of your picrel.

are you could have mass gainers and oats

Or you could just have proats mixed with even more oats.

that would cause even more inflammation which would speed up the aging process tenfold

Kek. In Johnsons case, mass gainers are a non starter since intermittent fasting + a caloric deficit are ideal for anti-aging

    Depends on the country

In Brazil they give like 15gr of protein per 150gr of product

      disgusting because it's unhealthy or?

the only good thing i recall from these was the taste. now its another matter of complain and care about taste when its meant to serve a purpose but compared to whey isolate, the carbs (sugar) in this really enables them to taste way better.

i stopped drinking powders like 8 years ago because i realized i can just actually eat and enjoy great tasting real food for my protein. wow what a revelation.

or you could just eat food

      >j-just eat 5 chicken breasts a day bro
I feel full after eating two, and instead of forcing three more down my throat I can just chug down a single smoothie with mass gainer, and save the chicken for tomorrow.
I also avoid takeout, so If I am too lazy to cook Mass Gainer helps me out there too.

I bought a bag of mass gainer once. I had what was considered “one serving”. Three scoops with milk, from memory. It was thick as frick, hard to drink, and by the time I forced it all down my throat, my stomach started cramping and it felt like it was going to explode or I was going to vomit.
I ended up giving the bag to a friend after that.

50g protein, 250g carbs, 5g fats per serving. What the frick, don't people get fat off of this?

      Anonymous

It is a supplement, you can smoothly fit 100g of protein in 1,750cal to end up with 3000cal 150g of protein, which is a good amount for gaining weight while lifting

Putting ice cream and Oreos in your shake is cheaper, tastes better, and unironically lower glycemic index

      Anonymous

      it "unironically" is not better
the macros are dogshit compared to the mass gainer for the same amount of calories

what if you slightly reduce the servings and add some protein powder

that would be better but you will still end up with 5x as much sugar

idk m8 I think you're confusing micronutrients with macronutrients
the first two ingredients in this stuff are literally sugar and whey protein. it's sugar + protein + multivitamin

              Anonymous

listen m8, idk about that specific brand in OP, but this is what I use and I assume the macros in OP are similar
              19g of sugar

                Anonymous

ok that one just uses a bunch of starch instead of sugar
dunno if i'd call that better macros especially for a weight gainer. it's still starch + sugar + protein instead of sugar + protein

                >and I assume the macros in OP are similar
OP product is the one I pasted above

ofc starch is better than simple sugar.

                Anonymous

maybe. i mean i don't use any of this stuff myself because it seems silly, but people who have legit trouble gaining weight seem to benefit from the sugar bombs

If you go after a 80~140g dose it's seems a great way to avoid catabolize, have more energy and stregth while working out and help up with the bulk. I was thinking about buying those mass gainers to help with the bulk as a intra workout shake, what is the wrong part of my line of thinking?

          Anonymous

They are incredibly thick (far more than protein powder) and have a ton of sugar. Combine that with room temperature milk (it tastes way worse with water) and you have a recipe for disaster while working out

            Anonymous

Wait, they are exacly like those cheap hypercaloric? By this I mean, that strong taste with a bizarre dense and flour like texture.

              Anonymous

No, they're not like energy gels.
Mass gainer just a big tub of powder you mix with milk or water, like protein powder

Based. The first like 6 months I started being consistent I used this stuff to bulk. Definitely worked and tasted way better than protein shakes. I’d squeeze it in with my dinner by mixing a scoop in a glass milk and chugged it (vanilla one tastes really good, like a vanilla milkshake and doesn’t have that weird protein aftertaste).

Although after a certain point you should definitely go on a cut, they can make you fat if you’re using it as a protein supplement.
