Mike Mentzer was literally right about everything

This exercise has given me the best burn I've ever felt in my biceps. Even though it's basically the same thing as a pullup it feels so much better. Frick curls

That's literally what you're supposed to do to train for pullups if you can't do a real pullup yet.

pullups are great but are more of a compound exercise
this one isolates the biceps better

Using wrist wraps really isolates my lats while underhand

You're a moron who just wasn't doing curls properly. Mike was literally dead wrong about these, his thing about the bicep "contracting from both ends" is factually false since lowering your arm extends your bicep. Mentzer was a pseud.

I will post body if even one of you can correctly explain why pulldowns are a better bicep exercise than curls.

because mike mentzer said so, moron
they probably don't work as well for you because you're getting too much volume

What's the best bicep exercise then?

                Anonymous

curls basically isolate the bicep while chin ups/supinated lat pull downs use the bicep + lats + traps. chin ups are a great exercise, but if the goal is to isolate the biceps, then curling is king.

            >roider said X so it must be true
It doesn't change the fact that the biceps are not contracting from both ends, in fact they're contracting at one end and lengthening at the other. Mentzer was wrong, accept it.

Redpill me on the difference between chin ups and machine seated chins

      Anonymous

The latter is more of an isolation movement that requires less energy. Do chin ups first, then use pulldowns for additional volume when you can't finish a set of chin ups.

Machine=uses mostly only lats and biceps. Chin ups=angages core, traps and delts more.

I've never seen anyone with a good physique use a lat pulldown machine (except for women)

Exercises aren't supposed to feel nice. Feeling a burn is bad. The best exercises are the ones where you go to faolure and can't even tell which muscle failed.

Pullups are great for core and forearms and I doubt pulldowns are as good for either. I went from barely able to close a CoC #1 once to closing it 5 times, I think because of pullups and deadlifts.

      What about upper back?

Yeah I guess traps, rhomboids and rear delts are also activated but there is a redditor who gets posted here sometimes that basically just does pullups and dips and he has no traps or delts, haven't seen his upper back but he has big lats.

You will do ANYTHING but preacher curls to build biceps, even dick sucks to failure. Why? Just do fricking preacher curls. You guys are such fricking homosexuals, it’s insane that we’re even having this thread right now. I am trying to share my gains with you, and you’re telling me you’d rather keep posting in this gay thread.
