Mind-muscle connection in weightlifting

Despite 4 months of training with a PT focused on mind/muscle connection, I still have trouble feeling my muscles. Before training with this PT I've been training on my own for a year. I've been training for a year and a half and I still have the body of someone who has never hit the gym. How can I get out of this situation?

Where dobyou want me to begin?
The fact that you expect someone else to develop your mind muscle connection, or that you thought it was wise to "train with a pt"
You're wasting time, you don't know what actual training is, you have too much money, you're too comfortable, and you're fricking lazy and not capable

So the best idea would have been to keep stagnating like I was doing at the end of my first year? I knew that something was wrong because my lifts were increasing very slowly, my body didn't look more muscular (although I gained 10kg, doesn't look like it) and I didn't feel my muscles at all when training.

imagine not being able to figure something out like how to engage your biceps during a curl
you try this for a year then throw money at it for a couple months before coming here crying about it
how the frick do people like you hold a job, pay taxes, have kids etc

I'm not complaining about my PT at all, I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong with me 🙁

if you read my post and thought I was criticizing your PT, that says a lot about your mental state
anyways, only you can achieve mind muscle connection so instead of relying on outside sources like a PT, try different methods yourself
you sound like someone that would experience a breakthrough taking a couple grams of shrooms then trying to lift

    Have you tried isometrics?

I used to never be able to feel my chest until I started doing push up planks and wall pushes

Seconding this. I had a similar experience with bench press. I lowered the weight in order to do pause sets and my chest pumped up like never before. It was like a switch flipped on and I've been in gains city ever since.
Also don't feel bad for not having good MMC. Some people just naturally have good kinesthetic qualities. Even a 60iq Black person could understand bodybuilding without understanding what they're doing. They'd probably tell you some shit about getting good blood flow or something like that, but really they just do what has always worked for them

Sometimes, certain muscles can be dysfunctional and dominated by synergistic muscle groups which makes them difficult to train. Common examples: 1. Glute Max dominated by hams & lumbar erector spinae. 2. Pec major dominated by anterior delts.

In the case of Gmax, you'd need to stretch / loosen hams and lower back before doing exercises that specifically target Gmax - use light weight and high volume with good form.

The fact that you can't feel any muscles during workouts and still look dyel, after almost 2 years training, suggests that you simply aren't working hard enough.

I sometimes find it difficult to feel my muscles when I’m at my working weight but when I progress from the bar to heavier weights it’s clear what I’m activating. For example if I do low weight rows I can feel my lats, delta etc but at my working weight I think I’m just trying to do the lift and the connection gets drowned out with the effort and stress.

Just try lifts with the bar and even exaggerate the lift a little to feel it. As you increase the weight keep being mindful. It’s not magic and I also think it improves as your muscles get bigger and more well defined simply because the contractions are more obvious. I also think you’re too obsessed with this concept.

If you wanna believe esoterical Black person stuff, believe in muscle memory. Learn to do a exercise correctly and you will be virtually capable of doing it at any speed with any force. Ive taken out 10kg from the pullup station since i started two weeks ago just because of learning the movement by spamming it, not even by gaining strenght. It happened the same when i cardio rowed in 4 months i dominated the max level at 33spm
