Dumbbell farmers are a completely different movement to farmers with handles. Dumbbells don't need to be that heavy-I had an event win in db farmers the other week with 70kg per hand for 96m but most people in my category did less than 60. Farmers with actual farmers walk handles or a frame (for 15-20m) should be a bit heavier than your deadlift max
sometimes on my treadmill i will put weight into a backpack and powerwalk while also holding apple juice jugs in each hand.you can do this at home doubt a gym is going to let you hold weights when youre on the treadmill.
yes. also, db lunges build more aesthetic quad development than squats imo.

I did with 50kg and I felt it, then again I'm not very strong.

However, heavier is better.
Buy 20-30 liter plastic jerrycans from your hardware store and fill up with water.
To progress in weight just gradually replace the water with sand.
