So umm yeah, why do we care about strength again?? How do I increase reaction time and coordination and explosiveness.

Of course it’s still an impressive bench but not super crazy. Average gym goer could get that in a few years if they really tried.

I’d rather be able to ko anyone with my bare hands than just be able to just pick up heavy pieces of rubber on a bar…

Jone Jones isn't even a particuarely hard puncher. his striking is very versatile and takes advantage of both the the reach of his arms and legs alike, and times his grappling beautifully and is relentless. his mental is on point and he has a solid chin. basically, he is a complete fighter

not to mention as other people have pointed out, those are impressive numbers in the bench for someone that isn't a pure weight lifter, especially considering Jones has very long arms

granted... i know next to nothing about bench pressing as i have never actually lifted a gym weight in my life. i DO know that long arms make benching more difficult though

NTA but Jones has always benefitted from physical advantages over his opponents on top of his skills. He has never really faced a guy he didn't outmatch athletically and had his hardest fights against dudes that came close to a physical match like Gus and Reyes. Definitely a powerlet as far as punching goes, of course.

Eddie Halls body is just useless and unnatural and vain though. Jones’s body is clearly more useful.

Transport them both back to hunter gatherer times. Eddie hall would instantly die. Jones would survive much longer.

        Anonymous

Ancient hunter gatherers weren't scrawny Africans hunter gatherers that can be blown away by a stiff breeze like your Yakubian mythology implies. They were strong enough to stab dulled stone through fur and fat and muscle and bone without the beast tearing it out of their hands.

Jones couldn't survive in a siberian climate to even hunt the mastadon. Everybody is built for different climates.

            >They also needed the cardio to chase down prey.
Persistence hunting is a meme theory created by virgins and only done by the most desperate and least successful hunters in all of human history. Have fun chasing a deer over 10 miles and then carrying it 10 miles back to your pregnant women and children lmao. Not even mentioning the high risk of failure.

Anyway, rather than relying on useless persistence hunting, humans have tended to use group hunting tactics to corner and surround animals, as well as using weapons to damage animals over long distances. Also traps. This is how we kill megafauna, and you can even see that done today by the African hunter-gatherers. You don't kill an elephant by chasing it until it's tired, obviously, what a stupid idea.

There's a reason God gave humans hands and brains. Hunting isn't just about running. Yes hunting obviously involves some "cardio," but pretending like Eddie Hall would "die instantly" is moronic, especially considering how intelligent he is (traps and weapons). He would easily adapt, and his strength (and intelligence) would be a useful asset to any group of hunter-gatherers.

Your perspective has been warped by scrawny twinks on Instagram using fake weights, and fat morons on this board who flat out lie about their numbers. What are you talking about? Guy is fricking absolutely huge as a motherfricker. Thats not impressive at all. I benched 315lbs and i was160lbs. That fricking Black person is 255lbs

I still bench the same 7 years later but lmao3pl8 is achievable very easily in about 3 years of lifting. IST has been bussing since 2013. Ive been here 10+ years, I dont consider achievements that take 3 years that good. If you played the piano for 3 years or golf for 3 years you are probably alright but its not anything crazy impressive. People who started playing the piano since they were toddler have 20-30 years of experience, now that's impressive.

He set and then defused some bombs and prepared to rescue some hostages before the entire operation was cancelled. I've heard him talk about his career and never does he mention firing a weapon or engaging any enemy.
I'm thinking this is midwit filter. Not everyone who was ever in Delta Force has a huge kill count because they need technical specialist and commanding officers and that's what this guy seems like. Might as well post a picture of a marine corp engineer.

Vining isn’t the baddest badass in all the land, but Delta training (or any other special forces training) is a lot more relevant to being a dangerous person than martial arts, and the contrast is what sells it because he looks like a dork.

My contention is that he seems unproven by the accounts I've heard. He was never sent out on a real mission where he accomplished anything, so he may have just been a dork with an unearned position.
I look deeper than the surface level and find out that this guy just got assigned to a bunch of cancelled missions.
