>most jacked guy I know doesn't use more than 225 on any lift and trains 6 days per week
>210 pounds of shrinkwrapped muscle at 5'9" and looks like superman
>deadlifts 225 for sets of 30
>benches and rows it for sets of 20-25
>squats it for sets of 40
>still includes isolation lifts between 10-20 reps depending on the lift
>he has next to no injuries in his training career and mogs the living frick out of everyone
>better cardio than most people even though he doesn't do any specific cardio
>1RM on the basics are outrageous compared to his self imposed 225 limitation
What's the catch here? There has to be something wrong with this training methodology. This seems like magic to me and he says he's been doing this for years because he didn't have a lot of weight in his garage and he just kept up the method

>a guy this anon knows said it so it must be true
high volume training is literally the number one most well known thing about getting big
you won't have a very big 1RM but who cares
>but who cares
Strength > aesthetics.
I wish you incels would all just fricking hang yourselves.
Why do you get so irrationally angry when strangers on the internet have different priorities to you?
>Aesthetic goal == incel
It's a sad world you live in. Does not have to be that way anon.
>strength and hypertrophy are different things
oh wow!!
It's true. You don't have to lift big to get big.
What do you care about? Having big pretty muscles or big impressive lifts?
Whichever you choose is an admirable pursuit that requires dedication and discipline and you should be willing to give it your best shot, it won't always be fun and easy.
You can also shift your goals if you find you're not satisfied or grew disillusioned, that's fine and it happens because things are never as you expect them beforehand.
In general you can lift 1/2/3/4 first, then decide whether you want to upgrade your class to bodybuilder or powerlifter. Then there's the event promotion, oly weightlifter, and the bad ending, crossfit homosexual.
This is an example of crabs in a bucket who don't realize people have great potential and a very vast room for improvement and can pursue whatever makes them happy and sacrifice all they need to for just that. I call it the 'tism.

>high volume training
Actually, high stress training.
what is high volume training?
Why does every huge bodybuilder lift massive weights?
Most people are lacking in volume. Due to lack of weight and exercise selection your friend was forced to focus only on volume and intensity for progressive overload. Likely better results could have achieved with lower rep ranges. Most people are content to add a few more lbs to the bar and exert a little effort, not take a look what else they need to do for stimulus. But if your friend maxes out he might visit snap city, Going heavy strengthens tendons, bones, ligaments, ect
now imagine how jacked he would be following a proper routine. the thing is he’s probably having fun and feeling good doing his workouts which is ultimately what matters the most.
this image is fricking moronic, RPE just means how many reps are left in the tank not how moronic your speech is afterwards
dunning kruger on full display
the catch is that doing 400 reps is annoying as shit
The catch is trying to figure out his stack
I train higher volume.
Helps me grow and my joints don't hurt anymore.
I don't think limiting to 225 is logical, but staying in the 8-20 rep range is.
