The mouth tape is designed so that it isnt very strong, it just provides enough sticking force to stop your jaw from naturally lowering. If your nose gets blocked while you sleep your mouth will open and the mouth tape wont stop you from breathing through your mouth. You stay asleep while this happens the whole time.
