You're imposing mental restrictions on yourself to not eat outside a given window, forcing you to eat a lot less.
If your coworker could stick to one meal a day he wouldn't be obese. The only time restricted eating that works is 18/6. Only the last two hours suck and if you can slam water and coffee for those two hours you win.
