Yes, my hair looks fine (yet). But shouldn't I start taking care of it as soon as I can?
      Finasteride is important

        Insanely idiotic.

You're balding because of DHT sensitivity. You need to reduce serum DHT first and see the effects, and only then hop on Minoxidil to initiate any regrowth.

By the way, any hair gained with Minoxidil is lost after you come off it. It's a life-long commitment. Just keep that in mind.

finasteride increases testosterone by roughly 7% and estrogen (temporarily) by 7% which is regulated back down to normal after some time

I know it increased total T, but does it increse free T too? I've read that it lowers free T, probably from the increased SHBG that's left 'unbound' from the lack of DHT.
Males with that wacky 5AR mutation that naturally inhibits DHT production are yoked as frick and obviously have a frickton of free T, but I doubt their endocrine system is comparable to a finistaridegay.

I just find hilarious how people take so lightly playing wiith their hormones, the role of DHT is far more than "I make you bald bro".

Getting breasts is the least of your concerns after using that for a prolonged time, fatty liver, renal problems and high gleason prostate cancer are just some things you can get from blocking DHT.

The even more hilarious part is that people from here that were so scared and opposite to the vaccine, go and take finasteride, dutasteride or oral minox at their first sign of balding, all with little to none investigation on their effects to health after a long time using.

Make sure you are not deficient in Vitamin D and magensium, be IST and stop eating inflammatory food like red meat, processed meat like sausages, things made with white floor, fried things etc.

nice source bro and thats literally wrong, fin raises your free test when you first take it since you body isn't using as much of it to make DHT then it autoregulates back to normal.

you're the one who's extremely idiotic (tho the op's doctor is not far behind...)

      >You need to reduce serum DHT first
nope. he needs to reduce scalp dht
serum dht reductions are an undesirable side effect
which is why topical fit (primarily reduces scalp dht) is to be preferred over oral fin (primarily reduces serum dht)

      >only then hop on Minoxidil to initiate any regrowth
the 2 substances act orthogonally to each other
ofc he SHOULD hop on fin, but not being on fin will not reduce the effectiveness of min, merely render its effects impermanent

      >any hair gained with Minoxidil is lost after you come off it
wrong. if you use min long enough that follicles become fully mature, they will be retained forever
assuming you are also on fin (or dut) so the progression of mpb is halted, so your newly matured follicles don't miniaturize/die again.

        Anonymous

topical fin has the same serum dht reduction as oral fin

by my experience, after your hair start to grown base on minox, once you stop it start to falling out 4 to 7 days later

long hair shafts fall off like nothing

dont lie to yourself. face the truth. It is downhill from here. You should be proactive and do the combo.

    it is more effective

I am doing it for 3,5 years. Sides only week 1. Pain under my balls.

interesting to say, I am 35 yo and both grandparents died from prostate cancer... so... fin deflate enlarged prostates. Maybe thats why

    dick function 100%
kinda impressive... I am not a young guy and it gets hard instantly for nothing

    >Is she right?
    no.
you need finasteride to stop the progression of mpb
minoxidil is pushing in the opposite direction, but really what its best used for is *regrowth* of miniaturized, but not yet dead, hair follicles.
also, minox is best combined with microneedling the target areas.

anon, ignore your doctors opinion and do the golden standard: fin (ideally topical, otherwise 0.5-1mg oral per day) + min (topical) + microneedling
if you can get your doctor to go along with this, great.
    otherwise, switch doctors.

      this anon is right

BUT microneedling hurt to the point that make you cry. Minox on top of that hurt even more because feels like alcoohol

I know this is a bait post but this legitimately did happen to me at a hairloss clinic, then they tried to sell me a course of red light therapy (and minoxidil lol) for around 2k. anyway I didn't do that and have been on fin for 6 months, I don't feel any different at all but it also hasn't worked and my hair has been in a continuous shed for the last 6 months and my shit is fricked. thanks 4 reading my blog might post before and current photos if I remember when I get home later

Kek, literally had the opposite happen to me. She was very dubious about my malding but ended up writing me a script for fricking dutasteride. Didn't even warn me about the teratogenic effects and said a referral to an endo wasn't needed.
She mentioned T off-handedly. I don't know if she was dumbing it down for me or actually has absolutely NO IDEA how ARIs work.

This is after year of finasteride 1mg, a woman doctor prescribed me this. She was helpful and said she's been doing this for over 20 years and none of her patients got sides (at least none of those who kept visiting her). I don't have any side effects either
I noticed hair thinning 2 years ago (I was 37) and I started obsessing over it more and more until i finally went for a cure year ago.

One day went shopping to Lidl, there was tv screen at the entrance showing footage from video camera above it. This was when I was able to clearly see the thinning on sides and top of the head.
    I stopped shopping there.

Been on oral min + oral fin for a year. I like having to just take 2 pills every day and othewise never think about it. Not sure if I've regained anything but it feels like it hasn't gotten worse. left is before with longer hair slicked back. Right is after being buzzed cause I noticed lots of smaller hairs around my hairline and scalp, and wanted to reset everything to be the same length.
